CASE-ing a fellow SSInker

They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery.  So today I am going to be flattering a fellow Design Team member.  Last year, well on December 31st, Bree posted an absolute gorgeous card.  Here it is:

I love so much about this card; the colors, the layout, the embellishments.  It is stunning!  So I thought I would make a card INKspired by her gorgeous work.  Here is mine:

I used the same stamp set and basic layout, but that is where the similarities end.  I used products from the Have a Cuppa Suite. I love how this turned out.  I had so much fun making it.  Aside from the Balloon Celebration stamp set, I also used the Timeless Textures stamp set.  I actually only used the framelits from the Have a Cuppa Suite because I let one of my sidelines borrow my stamp set and framelits.  The tea pot was an extra die cut I had made last time I played with this set.  So I sponged it Melon Mambo to match the paper.  I knew I wanted to use the a Tea Doily because that seemed perfect for a fancy cup of coffee.

This Is The Life Project Life Kit

I am happy to share some Project Life pages that I have done recently.  I am using the This Is The Life Kit which has some fabulous bright fun colors in it.  It goes perfectly with the pictures I have.  Here is a look at the entire two page layout:

I had some great pictures from the June NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway.  It was a beautiful day and we got lots of different shots.  Here is a loot at the left page:

As you can see it was just the three of us, my son was with his grandparents.  Here are some close ups of a few sections of the page:

I used the little squares from the This Is The Life Accessory Pack.  I also used the Day to Day and This Is The Life Project Life stamp sets.  I added some ribbon and a paper bow with the Bow Builder Punch.

Here is the journal page.

More cute squares and I used the Hello Life stamp set and some of the Metallics Sequins.

Isn't she a cutie?  Love that gappy smile!

Here is the right page.  A rare picture of Jonathan and I along with shots of our little Danica Patrick fan!  Jonathan loves going to the races, the sound, the smell, the cars.  It is his Happy Place for sure and I was glad to be able to go with them.

Thanks for looking at my layout.  Project Life makes it so easy!  Did you get a chance to see the other Project Life projects from the gals over at SSI?

January Mystery Challenge

It's Monday and I had some inkspiration for you in the form of our monthly Mystery Challenge.  Donna picks out a few elements and you pick which on you want to incorporate in your project.  Here is the challenge:

So many fun things to choose from.  Here is what I came up with:

I decided to just used the fabulous color palette of Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Wild Wasabi, the heart shape (the trio of hearts I fussy cut) and the emboss resist technique.  I also just used one stamp set, which is rare for me.  I tend to use a lot of different stamp sets because I have collected quite a few.  Shhhhh don't tell anyone!

I bet you can make something amazing with this list of elements!  Head over to SSI to link up your creation now!  You can find a supply list below from my card.  Thanks for looking!

A Great Color Challenge

I LOVE the color challenge over at Stampin' Royalty.  It uses one of my favorite colors, Mint Macaron.  And I absolutely loved all the inspiration from the Design Team there, but I wanted to go a different route.  First of all, here are the colors:

I just love these soft colors set off with that beautiful brown!  Here is what I came up with:

See I told you it was different.  Instead of flowers, butterflies, balloons or ice cream, I went with a jellyfish!  Ha ha!  It is hard to see but I coated my little guy there with the clear glitter from the Wink of Stella Glitter pen.  It looks great in person.  I used three stamp sets here, By the Tide, From Land to Sea and Perfect Pairings (a Sale-A-Bration stamp).  I decided to add some silver sequins as well for extra sparkle and shine!  Thanks for looking!

Hats Off To You

I am trying to get back into Challenge Mode.  Today I was able to get two challenges done.  Up first is the absolutely adorable sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!  Check it out:

So fun right?  Although this one will definitely require me to face my fear, white space.  I did my best and have some on my card.  Here it is:

I decided to use a stamp set that hasn't seen ink in awhile, Guy Greetings and fussy cut those little hats.  I added some texture underneath with the new Timeless Textures stamp set.  And I needed to do something with the bottom so I layered on some washi tape and added a cute Lost Lagoon Arrow and a gold bow tie clip to finish it off.  Thanks for checking it out!

A Wild(flower) Birthday

So one of my crafting resolutions is to get ink on all the stamps I get shortly after they have arrived home!  I have some stamps that barely got any ink on them and then they retired.  Well not any more!  I tend to unpack my new stamps and leave them on my table until I use them.  I had been pretty good about it.  But one of the first Sale-A-Bration stamps I earned got put away and I finally got around to using it, along with the fabulous paper that goes with it.  Check it out:

I love the combo of Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive here and those flowers are so pretty!  I decided to stamp a few of the images from the Flowering Fields Sale-A-Bration set and color them in with the blender pens.  I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the center square, giving the dandelions a little sparkle.  I love these images so much I stamped the inside as well:

That little butterfly is so cute!  This would be such a perfect spring birthday card. I have someone in mind to give it to, let's hope that I remember!

Thanks for looking at my birthday card. For more birthday inkspiration, head over to SSI!

Bloomin' Love

When I first saw the Valentine's Day line in the Occasions catalog I had a mixed reaction.  I loved the DSP and the accessory pack, but I wasn't so sure about the stamp set and coordinating thinlit set.  Well some reason I decided that I needed to give it a chance and I am so glad I did.  I have a Valentine's Day card that was pretty easy to make.  Check it out:

I decided to just cut the gorgeous heart out in Rose Red.  I have played with using foil and seen it done with glimmer paper too, but I wanted to just use card stock.  But of course I had to add some sparkle, so I cut out the flowers in the beautiful Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.  I added some pearls and just stamped a very simple My Valentine sentiment in Blushing Bride.  Here is a close up of the intricate diecuts.

I kept the inside simple as well because for me, I don't need to say too much inside a card to my husband.  Mostly because I have said it all out loud, time and time again.

Below I have a supply list for you.  For more Valentine's Day ideas, head over to SSI!

January INKspiration Challenge

Happy Monday!  We have a great challenge for you this week at SSI.  I might be biased because it is now a challenge that I am responsible for.  The third Monday of the month is an INKspiration challenge.  I designate an image, usually to go with the season or some of our popular stamps or DSP and you create any project you want that is inspired from the image.  You can use the colors, shapes, subject matter, whatever your little heart desires!  So let's see what we have in store for this month:

YUMMY, right?  I think I need to drop some not so subtle hints that I would love some chocolate covered strawberries from my hubby.  Anyways, here is what I came up with:

Yep, I made the strawberries!  I had to!  I won the Apple of My Eye stamp set at a Stampin' Up! event I went to so I was happy to fine a chance to use it.  I am not sure I would have bought it, so I am glad I won it.  The image is actually supposed to be a pear and it's solid.  So you are probably saying, how did you do that?  I did some KISSing!  I used the flowery pattern stamp from I Think You're Great and inked it up in Real Red, that used that as my new ink pad for the strawberry shape.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  I had to make them extra fancy too so I added some sequins and red Dazzling Details.  Here is the inside:

I had to make another strawberry and "take a bite out of it!"  Love using our punches in such fun ways!  Below is a complete supply list.  Thanks for checking out what I did.  Now let's see what you come up with?  Upload your creation at SSI!

A Sweet Birthday Card

I have a very sweet birthday card to share with you today for a very sweet little girl.  I was inspired by the sketch I saw over at Create with Connie and Mary.  Check it out:

Okay so I should confess, I did rotate their sketch.  I am sure the sideways words gave that away.  Ha ha ha!  Here is my card:

I used a lot of fun things in this card including my favorite color, Mint Macaron!  I love how it pairs with Blushing Bride.  Instead of a flower, I decided to use the ice cream cone from the Sale-A-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness.  It matches perfectly with the ice cream cone paper from the Birthday Bouquet DSP.  I did run out of room for my sentiment so I took some vellum and embossed on the Happy Birthday from Perfect Pairings, another Sale-A-Bration set.  Thanks for looking.  Below I have a complete supply list.

Hello Little Sunshine

Happy Friday!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I am featuring a quick and easy, one layer card with a fun sunshiny theme.  I saw that over at Stampin' Royalty they were featuring one layer cards and this is something I tend to struggle with.  I can't help it, I love layers and I have more paper than I will ever use!  So it is good to try to KISS...Keep It Simple Stampin'!  Here is my card:

So I am not sure if I am cheating using the Washi Tape and the button, but it needed something else!  Ha ha ha.  I try to KISS, honestly I do!  Check out a supply list below.  For more Sunny and Bright cards, check out the other projects over at SSI!

My Favorites from the Occasions Catalog

Hello and welcome to the January SSI Blog Hop.  Today we are each taking some time to highlight our favorite new products from the FABULOUS Occasions Catalog.  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop -Tobe at The Craft Sea. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

And of course in true me fashion, I can't just pick one thing.  So I am going to spotlight an awesome bundle and coordinating DSP stack - the Have a Cuppa Suite.  Check it out:

So cute right?  Here are a few of my projects I made.  The first is a quick and easy notecard:

I didn't use the framelits here and only used the DSP to line the envelope.  My favorite part is the little steam heart.  I decided to stamp the cup in Smoky Slate in the inside and then stamp the sentiment over top in Bermuda Bay.

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Here is another card using that big stamp:

I used my oval framelits to cut the tea cups out and made it like a place setting.  The Wisteria Wonder print DSP was perfect.  I cut out my flatware with some Basic Gray card stock.  Here is the inside:

I stamped the cup in Pool Party and the sentiment inside in Wisteria Wonder.  Then I added a little tea stain from the Timeless Textures set in Smoky Slate.

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Here is a card that I CASE'd from the catalog:

I love how these cups stack up!  I started with a Melon Mambo card base and added some Wisteria Wonder then some DSP from that fabulous stack!  I cut out cups in Whisper White, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.  I wanted to add something to the later two cups, so I dug out the I Think You're Great stamp set and used those fun backgrounds to give the cups some pizzazz.  I cut the tea bag and steam heart in Basic Gray and finished it off with some Wisteria Wonder  seam binding ribbon tied to the handle.  Here is a peak at the inside:

I decided to just add a little die cut cup with a fun heart to bring the whole card together.

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Here is my favorite card which came together so quickly:

I LOVE this one!  I went with a Pool Party card base and added the fun tea bag DSP.  I used some of the Crushed Curry DSP on the left layered over half of a silver foil doily.  I added the gorgeous Pool Party ribbon for some sparkle.  Then I die cut a little tea pot in Pool Party and added some scallop details in Crushed Curry and the sentiment punched out with the 1" circle punch.  And of course I had to add a tea bag and a little puff of steam.  Here is the inside of the card:

I kept this one simple and just stamped some lemon wedges in the corner.

Finally I have a cute mini card:

This is a little 3 x 3 notecard.  I sorta CASE'd a card from the catalog.  I used the Crushed Curry DSP and added some washi tape from the Cherry on Top Suite (it is Bermuda Bay).  I love all the fun framelits, for this I just cut a mug in Whisper White and added a lemon to the rim.  The sentiment comes from the You're So Sweet Sale-A-Bration set.  After I stamped a Crushed Curry heart, I added some Bermuda Bay thick twine with the handle.  I wish now I made it into a full card.

Using Leftovers

This past weekend, I had an open house to share all the fabulous new products in the Occasions Catalog and show off the great things you can earn for free with a qualifying purchase.  I had a few make and takes as well.  When I was cleaning up, I took a second and made a card with some of the leftover supplies.  Here it is:

I used a Sahara Sand card base and layers on two sheets of the It's My Party DSP at different angles.  I took some leftover Mint Macaron and added some washi tape to it.  Then I stamped on a Label Die Cut from Sahara Sand and added a Faceted Button with some yummy Melon Mambo and Basic Black Baker's Twine.

What do you do with your leftovers?  It's so fun to be able to create something new from these extra supplies.  Thanks for looking.  Check out the other cards overt at SSI.

January Card Sketch

Happy Monday!  I am back with a card that I hope INKspires using our monthly card sketch challenge at SSI.  Check it out:

Cute, right?  And as much as this screams uses washi tape, I didn't.  Initially I wanted to use the It's My Party Suite with its fabulous coordinating washi tape.  But I had just purchase a new stamp set that needed to see some ink.  Here is my card:

The new stamp set was Birthday Blooms.  I had gotten the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper awhile ago but was excited to work with it.  I love the confetti background paper, the colors are so pretty and fun.  I used some of the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper for a WOW of sparkle.  I stamped that flower with the Basic Black Archival Ink and colored with with some Blender Pens.  I added some Baker's Twine and a cute Gold Bow Clip to finish it off.  Here is a peek inside:

I had to use that big flower and the heart border is so cute as well.  Thanks so much for checking out my card.  Now its your turn to go create and upload your project over at SSI!

Hello Birthday Girl

Happy Friday!  I am recovering from my first ever bout of strep throat.  Hope that is first and last because it was no fun.  I was sidelined from a lot of things for a few day including crafting.  But I was able to add to the collection of birthday cards that we have over at SSI.  Here is my card:

Although there are two fabulous new birthday DSPs available in the new Occasions catalog, I decided to go a different route.  I used the Perfectly Artistic DSP along with the Hello stamp set which are both free with a qualifying purchase thanks to Sale-A-Bration!  I just love the Mint Macaron color and it pairs so nicely with silver that I added a Metallic Foil Doily, some silver heat embosssing and a little silver bow.  This card came together so quickly, that is what happens when you have great products to work with it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Suite Sayings with Remarkable You

There are so many fabulous new stamp sets in the Occasions Catalog.  But we can't forget the amazing Annual Catalog and the awesome sets in there.  So today I am using one from each!  Suite Sayings is a great stamp set for lots of spring events, so I thought I would pair it with a flower from Remarkable You.  Here is my card:

So I really love this card and it ended up working out better than I thought it would.  I knew I wanted to use the lilies, so I stamped them on Shimmery White with Black Archival Ink and used Blender Pens to color them in (with Blushing Bride and Garden Green).  I added some Gold Dazzling Details to the center on the flowers.  The on the other side I matted some floral paper from the Love Blossoms DSP stack on some Garden Green card stock.  Then I stamped my Easter sentiment in versamark on vellum and heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder.  The vellum mutes the floral paper.  I finished the card off with a bow embellished paper clip from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to look at all the other projects combining old and new stamps sets over at SSI!

New Catalog Countdown Day 1 - Going Places Suite

It's here!  Today you can have at the whole Occasions Catalog and earn some fabulous new Sale-A-Bration products!  Try not to break the internet!  We have been sharing peeks at new products and projects over at SS Inkspiration for the past few days.  Here is a out last special look for you.  Today I am showing off the Going Places Suite.

Here is a quick Circle Flip Card I made with the fabulous Going Places DSP.  I used a Mossy Meadow card base and layered more Mossy Meadow embossed with the Happy Hearts embossing folder.  Don't you love that map paper?  The Going Places DSP stack is full of awesome patterns!

This is my favorite so far.  Don't you love that embossing folder of the world map?  The colors of this card are Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon and Basic Black.  I loved that compass paper as well.  The world stamp and the sentiment come from the Going Global stamp set.  It is hard to see in the picture but on the scallop around the world I coated it with the Wink of Stella glitter pen.  I did add some splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge set on the background for some extra texture.

This card is perfect for your favorite astronomer!  I love the star paper and the Big Dipper stamp.  I decided to use the Star Confetti punch with some Delightful Dijon card stock on top of the star paper for some extra star!  I added some gold sequin for some more sparkle!

This final card uses an AWESOME Sale-A-Bration stamp set that is only available until the middle of February.  It is call The Sky is the Limit.  I stamped the plane on some Going Places DSP with the Black Archival Ink and added Wink of Stella glitter in the heart cloud.  I added a vellum propeller.  This is such an easy card to make!

There is it...5 days of sneak peeks of the amazing new products from the Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  If you missed anything, go back and check out all the great projects created by our design team at SS Ink!

New Catalog Countdown Day 2 - Botanical Garden Suite

In just two days you can have at anything you want in the new fabulous Occasions catalog.  And to make a great situation even better, Sale-A-Bration starts so you will totally earn at least one or two fabulous new exclusive Sale-A-Bration items.  We are counting down the days to the catalog release here at SSI with some awesome sneak peeks.  I have one using the Botanical Gardens Suite.  Something to note is that the bundle in the catalog includes the stamp set, framelits, AND Designer Series Paper.  Plus there is a matching Sale-A-Bration set.  Here is my project:

It is a Pocket Card.  I sent it to a very special SSI Sister who was my Secret Santa.  She had sent me a very special birthday card, one that was a pocket card.  So I thought I would return the favor.  Here is a peek at each panel.

The first one uses some fun DSP with the "Just For You" sentiment embossed in white.  That sentiment comes from the Botanicals For You set which is a Sale-A-Bration item.

The next panel is some fun leafy DSP with some die cut leaves and flowers layered over top using the Botanical Builders Framelits Dies..

Next up is some Mint Macaron DSP with the Lace Trim and the Blossom Accents.  The "Thanks For Being You" sentiment comes from the Suite Sayings stamp set, which I am so glad I bought.  It includes sentiments for everything you can image for the upcoming months.

The next panel has a cool Mossy Meadow DSP with the "Because you're awesome" sentiment from Botanicals For You and finished off with a pretty Botanical Gardens Jewel.

I decided to take the Cajun Craze DSP and add a little bit of the floral DSP.  Then to add some sparkle, I added a silver foil doily and some more die cut flowers.

Then on the other side I added the "Because you're so nice" also from Botanicals For You and another Botanical Gardens Jewel.

On this panel, I took some pretty floral DSP and stamped on it with the Botanical Blooms stamp set.  I added some more die cut flowers with a rhinestone in the center and finished it off with a Thanks wooden element.

This is my favorite sheet of DSP and I just decided to add a butterfly.

Finally for this last panel I stamped the sentiment from Friendly Wishes in the Black Archival Ink.

I hope that you enjoyed my project which used so many new products.  I used most of the Botanical Gardens Suite, except for some Washi Tape (but I will be ordering that) and the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum (which is a Sale-A-Bration item that I will be getting as well!).  Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you check out the other projects from the fabulous designers over at SSI!
