Naturally Eclectic DSP

The new Designer Series Paper in the 2017-2018 catalog is so wonderful!  It was hard for me to pick a favorite for Friday Favorites.  But I did, the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper:
Just look at all those beautiful colors and patterns!  I made a few cards to share with you today:

There isn't much stamping on this card because the paper is SO PRETTY!   I started with a Soft Sky card base and added a Peekaboo Peach layer under the DSP.  I used the Eclectic Layers thinlit dies to create the Night of Navy die cut.  The die only cuts the insides out so I fussy cut around it.  I used the Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes dies for my sentiment and some of the Berry Burst Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon.

This card showcases the gems in the Designer Series Paper.  And instead of the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, I used the You're Priceless stamp set because it does coordinate with the Eclectic Layers Dies.  I used a Night of Navy card base with a Soft Sky background.  I balanced the gem paper with some Lemon Lime Twist stamped with my sentiment.  For the actual gem, I sponged some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with Lemon Lime Twist and ran it through the Big Shot.  Then I cut the outline in Lemon Lime Twist and glued the sparkly pieces on.  So fun!

For this card you can really see all the colors in this DSP and the beautiful water color effect.  I used a Emerald Envy card base and added the chevron print over top.  On Whisper White I stamped the leaves twice without reinking to get two shades of Emerald Envy.  Then I added my flower which was stamped in Peekaboo Peach with a Berry Burst die cut over top.  I did some background stamping with Soft Sky and added the sentiment in Berry Burst.  I added a strip of the copper trim and some rhinestones for some sparkle.

It is clear that I love this paper!  To see some of the other favorite Designer Series Paper from the gals on the Design Team, head back to SSI.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous is a great bundle because of all the birthday sentiments and that fabulous thinlit.  Although this set was available to pre-order, I was a little late to falling n love with it.  But now I am so glad I did!  Check out this card I made with a color combo that had been in my head waiting to be used:

I just LOVE Lemon Lime Twist and thought it would pair nicely with Island Indigo.  I cut out my Happy Birthday from some Island Indigo and layered it over some of the Lemon Lime Twist Fresh Florals DSP.  I then made a small bouquet of balloons.  Now if you are wondering where I got the Island Indigo Glimmer Paper, I MADE it!  You can use the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and add any color you like with reinker and spritzer or a sponge and ink pad (which is what I did).  I made sure to use a white sparkly balloon too!  Did you see how I dotted the "i" in Birthday?  Love the enamel shapes so much!  Here is the inside of the card:

Ok, here is a confession.  I didn't stamp my sentiment in the middle. So I added a strip of Lemon Lime Twist with some of the Blues washi tape (this one happens to be Island Indigo of course!).  I love all the fabulous color coordination that Stampin' Up! does for us.

Tickled PInk

I just got back from a week in Hilton Head with my family.  It was a wonderful vacation but I really did miss my stamp room.  Fortunately, I had a chance to create something when I got back for the INKspiration challenge over at SSI.  Check it out:

Cute right?  I love that flamingo and that chair so those were my key pieces to create my card:

I am using so many new goodies in this card; 2 new stamp sets, one new in color, new designer series paper, a new die, a new punch, and a new accessory!  My colors here are Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo and Crumb Cake (with a little Black Memento Ink).  I used the Burlap background stamp for some tone on tine stamping.  Of course my flamingo and the sentiment come from the Fabulous Flamingo set.  I decided to cut out a Lemon Lime Twist Adirondack chair for a fun punch of color.  I also had a scrap of the Lemon Lime Twist Fresh Florals DSP punched with the Pretty Label Punch.  Did you spot the Flirty Flamingo Glitter Acrylic Arrow?  Here is a peek inside:

I just stamped some leaves with out reinking to get the different shades of Lemon Lime Twist and stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo.

This card was so fun to make!  Can you create a project based on the image?  Head over to SSI for more ideas and upload yours!

Magical Mermaid

The new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog has not one mermaid stamps, but two!  I was so excited, I had to have them both.  Today I am sharing with you a card I made with Magical Mermaid.  First have a look at the awesome stamp set:

So pretty right?  And I feel like some of the fabulous new in colors just say MERMAID!  So here is my card:

I started with a Fresh Fig card base and layered on some Soft Sky that was embossed with the Seaside embossing folder.  I stamped the mermaid on Whisper White with the Basic Black Archival Ink and used my blender pens to color her in with Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink and Soft Suede.  It might be hard to see but I added some Wink of Stella Glitter so she shimmers.  I popped her up with dimensionals.  For the sentiment, I stamped the dotty sea-life in Soft Sky in the background and then added the sentiment in Fresh Fig over top.  I added a bit of Tranquil Tide in the background and finished the card off with some Perfect White Accents.

Check out some of the other favorite new stamp sets from the other designers over at SSI.

June Card Sketch

Happy Monday to you!  We have a fun geometric card sketch for you over at SSI; check it out:

I had a few ideas but when all was said and done I settled on creating with the beautiful Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and the Oh So Eclectic stamp set:

I love this paper.  It uses a lot of In Colors, both the new and older in colors.  I started with a Peekaboo Peach card based and added a Whisper White background with some Peekaboo Peach background stamping.  I hand cut six triangles from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper to create my hexagon.  I stamped the sentiment with Peekaboo Peach and layered it on the Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.  I love the crinkle ribbon, if only my clothes could be fashionably wrinkled!

This is a fun card sketch perfect to show off DSP.  Let's see what you can create.  Upload your card today over at SSI.

Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig

I love that Stampin' Up! puts out a set of fresh new in colors each year.  I was pretty sad to say good bye to the last set of in colors but they really won me over with these.  I love them all, but my favorites are Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig, especially together.  I created this fun card using two new stamp sets as well:

I started out with a Fresh Fig card base and added a layer of Lemon Lime Twist.  I love the deep purple with the bright neon green, such a great contrast!  The sentiment comes from the Just Add Text stamp set, one I loved as soon as I saw it!  I used the pot of paintbrushes from the Crafting Forever.  Now you might recognize the other in colors, I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color them in.  I stamped the pot on some of the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack and fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips.  I added some Lemon Lime Twist paint splatters for that artistic flair.  To finish off my card I wrapped a strip of the Lemon Lime Twist finely woven ribbon with a pair of the clear faceted gems.

Soft Saying Card Kit - Quick and Easy and Fabulous

The new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up! has so many fabulous things in it!  I am trying to convince a few more of my friends to try stamping out so I know that I need quick and easy projects for them.  Enter the Soft Sayings Card Kit.  This will definitely be a class for me.  This was one item that was definitely on my pre-order.  I got it and made it right away.  It took about 2 hours to create while I was dealing with my kids, so if you have uninterrupted time you can probably do it faster.  Here are the photos of all 10 designs, you make 2 of each card.  I stuck to the directions mostly:

The cards come in a few different sizes and come with matching envelopes.  The stamp set has fabulous sentiments and images that can be used for other projects.  And the card bases have this water color wash to them that are beautiful.  And the best part of this kit is that a REFILL is available!  This is something that I have suggested to Stampin' Up! so I am so happy about it!  I might have to order a refill kit (just the materials, not the stamp set, ink spot, or clear block) just to try my own designs!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Head over to SSI for more Quick and Easy Cards!

June Color Challenge

It is the first Monday in June so that means we have our color challenge over at SSI!  Check it out:

This using one of our fabulous new in colors; Berry Burst!  It is a fun bright pink and I just love it!  Here is my card:

I used LOTS of new goodies for this card.  I just love all my pre-order stuff and my first big box of stuff will be here today, so I am so very excited.  I started with some Whisper White and added the Color Theory DSP in the Daffodil Delight Ombre sheet.  I added a strip of Pear Pizzazz that was embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.  Layered on that I added some of the Berry Burst 1/2" Fine Cotton Ribbon.  I grabbed my sentiment from the Just Add Text stamp set and colored it with my markers.  I cut it out with the Layering Ovals Framelits and added a Pear Pizzazz Scallop Oval underneath.  I finished my card off with some Daffodil Delight Enamel Shapes.

Aren't these three colors fabulous?  I can't wait to see what You can come up with.  Link up your creation over at SSI!

Eastern Palace Projects

Today over at SSI, our designers are sharing our favorite suite from the new catalog.  The catalog was released to everyone yesterday...and I placed a huge order.  I am so very excited about getting my goodies.  We were only allowed to pre-order a select few items.  So in selecting my favorite suite, I decided on going back to the Eastern Palace Suite.  There is just so much to do with these fabulous products and I have 5 projects to share with you!  First up is a thank you card highlighting some great DSP and the awesome thinlits:

The color combination here is so pretty, I just love Tranquil Tide with Dapper Denim.  And those thinlits make the COOLEST die-cuts.  I added a strip of the gold vinyl stickers for a touch of shine.

Up next is probably my favorite:

So these thinlits really do create amazing things.  This card was so simple but I just love it.  I did cheat and use the Gold Faceted Gems which are amazing!

Here is a card using a pop of the fun Lemon Lime Twist:

I love Lemon Lime Twist!  And I love it paired with Dapper Denim with the gold accents.  I let the DSP be the focus but did add some tone on tone stamping with the little fan element (which makes me think of mermaids).  I decided to use my layering circle framelits and added some of the gold vinyl stickers to finish it off!

Here is a gift tag or bookmark:

I just wanted to have fun way to use those tassels!  And again, those thinlits are so fun to play with!

And finally this card is me trying to creatively stretch a bit:

I love these two colors together.  You will see me pair them up a lot I am sure!  I made my own background by randomly stamping all the circle in the stamp set on Lemon Lime Twist in Fresh Fig ink.  I used a scallop circle to cut out the intricate doily-like die cut.  I added some of the Fresh Fig 1/2 inch cotton ribbon.

So have I convinced you to get these products yet?  I swear I could spend all day in my craft room and create so many different projects with this suite.  Right now I will say its my favorite.  However when I receive my first order, that will change.  Head over to SSI to see what the other designers picked for their favorite suite!
