Soft Saying Card Kit - Quick and Easy and Fabulous

The new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up! has so many fabulous things in it!  I am trying to convince a few more of my friends to try stamping out so I know that I need quick and easy projects for them.  Enter the Soft Sayings Card Kit.  This will definitely be a class for me.  This was one item that was definitely on my pre-order.  I got it and made it right away.  It took about 2 hours to create while I was dealing with my kids, so if you have uninterrupted time you can probably do it faster.  Here are the photos of all 10 designs, you make 2 of each card.  I stuck to the directions mostly:

The cards come in a few different sizes and come with matching envelopes.  The stamp set has fabulous sentiments and images that can be used for other projects.  And the card bases have this water color wash to them that are beautiful.  And the best part of this kit is that a REFILL is available!  This is something that I have suggested to Stampin' Up! so I am so happy about it!  I might have to order a refill kit (just the materials, not the stamp set, ink spot, or clear block) just to try my own designs!

Bye Bye Bitty Butterfly

One of my favorite things about Stampin' Up! is their fabulous punches.  With this year's Retirement List we are losing quite a few classic punches (but we will get some great new ones, I promise!).  One of my favorites is the Bitty Butterfly (the Elegant Butterfly is a close second).  I made this quick and easy card to show off how great this punch can be:

I went with a rainbow effect using the swoosh from Over the Rainbow (another stamp set that is retiring).  I took the my Bitty Butterfly punch and punched out little butterflies from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stacks, which also retired and sold out very quickly!  My sentiment is from the Love and Affection stamp set which is also retiring.

Daisy Delight

One of the many perks about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is getting to play with the new products first.  We were able to pre-order from the new catalog at the beginning of May.  Unfortunately I have not had too much time to stamp but I did set aside some time to play with a fabulous new Suite of products, the Daisy Delight Suite, which includes a stamp and punch bundle, and gorgeous Designer Series Paper.  Here are my three cards, starting with my favorite:

This one is my favorite because it includes this beautiful watercolor inspired daisy paper.  And I would have never paired Tranquil Tide (new In-Color) with Calypso Coral, but I love them together.  This was also the easiest card I made from this set.  How pretty is that Thank You sentiment?  And I just added some Calypso Coral daisies on either side and finished it off with the Tranquil Tide cotton ribbon.

Here we get another look at some more of the patterns in the DSP pack.  For my daisy I stamped Calypso Coral in on Calypso Coral card stock and layered two punched pieces together for a fun full flower!  I added the new Clear Faceted Gems to the center of my flower.  I matted my Thank You sentiment on some Pool Party which really brings out that color in the DSP.  

Finally here I played with some of the other stamps in the set:

Again here are those colors I would have never paired together but love.  This card is an ink, card stock and scrap kinda card.  Definitely quick and easy but still very pretty.

May Color Challenge

I am so excited it is May!  The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, the new annual catalog for Stampin' Up is closer to getting released.  So many exciting things.  We are starting off the month of May with a fun color challenge with a retiring in color unexpectedly combined with a color from our Brights collection.  Check it out:

I knew I wanted to use the Happy Celebrations stamp set since I bought it awhile ago but hadn't gotten any ink on it yet.  Here is my card:

I love the brightness of the Pacific Point paired with the richness of Delightful Dijon.  I used the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder and stamped over it with the fun "smudge" stamp.  I also stamped the rest of my sentiment right on the DSP because there is no rule saying you can't!  That is one of the things I love about crafting...there aren't any rules!  I knew it needed something else, so I added a balloon with some baker's twine twirled up.  This card was definitely quick and easy.

Quick and Easy with High Tide

One of my favorite new stamp sets in the Occasions Catalog is High Tide.  I love the nautical images and the wonderful sentiments.  The variety of images makes it easy to set a perfect seaside scene.  And you can make a perfect card with just ink and paper.  Here is a quick one I did for my Open House this past weekend:

I started with an Island Indigo card base and used the water image to do some tone on tone stamping for the back ground.  I used a strip of the Tip Top Taupe envelope paper to layer underneath my stamped part.  I used Pear Pizzazz for the grassy area and I stamped the light house in Tip Top Taupe and Calypso Coral.  The sentiment is stamped in Island Indigo.  This card came together very easily because of all the great images in the stamp set.

Lift Your Spirits

Happy Friday to you!!!!  I am so ready for this weekend.  My hubby has been putting in a lot of hours at work so I am ready for some quality family time.  I am thinking we will take the kiddos to see the Lego Batman Movie.  I am also hoping to steal some time downstairs in my studio to create.  I have a fun little card to share with you that we will be making at my Open House next week.

This was CASE'd from a YouTube video from Stampin' Up!  I needed a quick and easy project that my guests could make without all the bells and whistles.  Honestly, creating without the Big Shot for me is difficult because I love it so much.  I know it can be a little intimidating to new stampers.  So this card uses the Lift Me Up stamp set, Carried Away DSP from Sale-A-Bration and coordinating colors.  I love this stamp set because it has so many sentiments.  And the DSP uses so many of my favorite colors.  Mint Macaron you are my favorite and I am in complete denial over your upcoming retirement!     

This set is pretty much my favorite right now and I am definitely going to be playing with it some more and you will see it again in the near future!  For more favorites from my stampin' sister designers, head over to SSI!

Lunchbox Notes

I really want to be that awesome mom whose kids get nutritional Pintrest worthy lunches complete with a sweet note, but most days the kids are lucky I remember to pack them a lunch at all.  And I actually forgot a drink for my daughter once.  Still I like to surprise my daughter with a note in her lunch every now and again.  And I think it might be cute to do for my son, even though I am usually in the next room when he eats lunch at Pre-School (I work in the office there).  So when I saw the cute stamp set Just Keep Swimming in the 2017 Occasions catalog, I knew it would be perfect.  Here are some quick and easy card I made with this fun stamp set along with the Brights Color collection:

These little stamps are just adorable and even though some are two and three step stamping, they were really easy to make.  I just took some card stock cut 3" by 6" and scored at 3".  The background paper is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (and the Neutrals).  I also created matching envelopes with that DSP using the Envelope Punch Board.  Here is a look at each card:

I used the Watercolor Wash background stamp for this one and added some White Perfect Accents for bubbles.

These gummy bears are so adorable!

How yummy are these macarons?  

This monster might be my favorite.  I am definitely going to make some Valentines with this stamp!

For this one, I used the Gold sheet from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.  I stamped the gem in black and then added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to make it sparkle!

These cards we so easy to make!  I would even say that they were quick and easy just like the cards featured over at SSI.  Head over there for more quick and easy cards!

A Very Merry Christmas

Well Christmas is practically here!  We have just two more days to get everything done.  For me its just one more day since I do an Open House for Christmas.  And although I really don'e feel like I am ready, I know that everything will get done.  I need to remember to try to keep things simple.  In the spirit of that idea, I am sharing with you a simply, yet elegant Christmas Card:

I will be totally honest, this card came to me after realizing I was running low on Whisper White and Crumb Cake envelopes, so I knew I need to make something from Very Vanilla.  I grabbed my favorite color, Mint Macaron and decided to accent it with some Copper Foil.  I love the Santa's Sleigh bundle, and am so glad I bought it.  I believe it is being carried over so I hope it makes an appearance in next year's Annual Catalog!  Between the layered trees and the cute copper deer, I love how this card came together.  I finished it off with some of the Striped Mint Macaron ribbon.  And of course I had to stamp the envelope as well!  

This was one of the many Christmas Cards I sent out.  I ended up sending over 70.  Unfortunately I had only 60 family picture printed.  For those who didn't ge a family picture, here is a look at it:

We decided to go with a fun family selfie (us-ie) that was taken this past summer at a local carnival.  It is one of my husbands favorite pictures of us as family!

Washi Tape Tree

One of my craft resolutions this year was to only buy what I will use.  Which is difficult because I love everything.  This has turned into me unpacking a box of stamping supplies and leaving it out until I use it atleast once.  I am trying to use up all my DSP, ribbon and washi tape...or atleast a good chunk of what I buy.  This turns into me adding strips of washi tape and DSP to the inside of cards and on the envelopes and using ribbon to tie on tags to gift bags.  I am doing pretty well with this.  

I was going to try to limit myself buying washi tape because I ended up with quite a collection but I ended up falling in love with so many of the sets from the Holiday Catalog.  I made this quick and easy card using the Warmth and Cheer Designer Washi Tape, some sequins and a gold star.  

I am sure I saw this idea somewhere on Pinterest, but I can't remember where.  I am really happy with how this came out.  It was super easy and a great way to use up that washi tape!  I love the bright sequins as the lights and the gold foil star to top off my tree.

Custom Made DSP

Stampin' Up! has so many great Designer Series Papers.  But maybe one doesn't exist with the right colors or patterns.  Well with all of our great stamps, you can great your own background paper.  I chose an obvious stamp set to do this with, called Playful Backgrounds.  Here is my card:

This could also be considered a Quick and Easy card as well.  I love Sweet Sugarplum and Basic Gray together with a hint of silver.  I am really loving this color, it's not quite pink and not quite purple.  This would be a cute card to accompany a little gift.

A Quick and Easy Badge

There are so many great stamps in the New Annual Catalog.  The Badges and Banners bundle have a two great products that work together to make great Quick and Easy cards, the best kind, right?  Here is the bundle:

Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with this bundle at first.  But of course I saw a lot of great cards by some fellow demonstrators and I started to see the light!  Here is one card I put together super fast:

I really love that Enjoy Your Day sentiment...it is so fun!  I decided to go with some Pool Party along with Crumb Cake and Silver accents.  The background paper is from the Serene Scenery DSP stack, which also inspired the color palette.  The strip of Island Indigo came when I cute the patterned paper to fit my card front.  I realized it would make a great accent.  I love using all the scraps!

Oh Happy Beach Day!

I am so excited to go to the beach this summer.  My little boy is approaching my favorite age (3-5) and my daughter is a super big sister helping out with him.  And we are renting a beach house in the Outer Banks, North Carolina with my extended family.  There will be six parents, six kids and 2 grandparents.  It is going to be awesome!  So I made this quick and easy beach card to celebrate this occasion:

All I did here was start with a Crumb Cake base and add a layer of Bermuda Bay card stock.  Then I took that beautiful beach scene paper from the Serene Scenery DSP stack.  I stamped the sentiment from Scenic Saying in Island Indigo and coated it with some Clear Wink of Stella glitter.  I added some Bermuda Bay stitched ribbon and a Pool Party enamel heart.  Don't you just want to be sitting on the sand there?

June Inkspiration Challenge

We have a colorful fun challenge for you today.  I chose a fun fruitty picture to INKspire you to create whatever comes to mind.  Check it out:

I chose to let the colors and sorta the fruit inspire me.  Here is my card:

I love this stamp set but have yet to get it.  Fortunately I have a fabulous stampin' friend who let me borrow hers.  This was a quick and easy card pulls the bright fun colors from the image.  I added a bit of DSP at the bottom and finished it off with some Cucumber Crush thick twine.

Swirly Scribbles Thinlits

I love my Big Shot!  I can't imagine creating without it.  And we got lots of great new Big Shot accessories in the New Annual Catalog.  My favorite is the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  You can do so much with these dies.  Here is a quick and easy card I made:

I took the fun Confetti Celebration stamp and made a fun balloon bouquet with the new In Colors.  I made a little scribble out of Dapper Denim to put under the Hooray!  So easy, so fun, right?

Quick and Easy with Affectionately Yours DSP

Do you have an fabulous DSP that you worry might over power a card?  Sometimes a little bit goes a long way.  Here is a quick and easy card I made using the Affectionaly Yours DSP and Washi Tape:

Simple, right?  I used the 2 1/2 inch circle punch to add just the right amount of paper.  I added some of the new Cucumber Crush thick baker's twine and some of the coordinating washi tape underneath.  The sentiment and banner is from the Thoughtful Banners bundle.  This is one of the cards we will be making at my New Catalog Launch Party.

Choose Happiness

As excited as I am about a new catalog, that also means that we have to say good bye to some wonderful products. We are spotlighting some of our favorite retiring products.  Today I have a quick and easy card using the Choose Happiness stamp set, one of my go to sets for collage stamping.  Check out:

I used the 2015-2017 in colors for this simple card.  I love stamp sets that have fun images that can work with lots of themes.  I added a little In Color Blossom to the wood grain banner for a fun embellishment.  Those are also retiring.

February Paper Pumpkin

I love the Paper Pumpkin kits.  Last month I used it to make a sweet Valentine's Day banner.  This month I was so excited to see an ADORABLE card kit.  It was very reminiscent of the awesome Watercolor Wishes kit to me, because it was easy, quick and cute!  Here it is: 

You get 9 cards and matching envelopes.  Here is a close up of each.  I did not really stray much from the directions.

Hello Little Sunshine

Happy Friday!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I am featuring a quick and easy, one layer card with a fun sunshiny theme.  I saw that over at Stampin' Royalty they were featuring one layer cards and this is something I tend to struggle with.  I can't help it, I love layers and I have more paper than I will ever use!  So it is good to try to KISS...Keep It Simple Stampin'!  Here is my card:

Words of Truth

Happy Friday!  I am looking forward to this weekend.  I have some plans to create and some plans with my husband.  I have a quick and easy card for you today featuring two new stamp sets I got when Stampin' Up! had their stamp sale.  Here is my card:
