New Catalog Countdown - Day 2 - Flirty Flamingo

We are so close to go time with the release of Stampin' Up's new Annual Catalog.  But first we have a few more colors to look at!  Today we are taking a closer look at Flirty Flamingo.  Check out this quick and easy card I made with a returning set and a new set.

I used the balloon and stars from Balloon Celebration along with the fun sentiment from a new stamp set called Confetti Celebration.  I used lots of different shades of Flirty Flamingo with the balloons by stamping off.  I used Pool Party for the stars and the layered piece.  And for the card base and sentiment I chose Island Indigo.  I added some sequins to give this card a little extra sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I can't wait to see the other projects over at SSI using new products!

Summer, Summer, Summertime

Well now that its past Memorial Day, it is the unofficial start of summer.  So I have a fun summery, beachy card for you today:

I used a similar color palette yesterday.  This stamp set, From Land to Sea is being carried over into the new Annual Catalog (officially out tomorrow!!!!).  This card is both nautical and Americana, both making me think of SUMMER!  I added some retiring accessories, the natural chevron ribbon and some candy dots.  If you are sad about the candy dots retiring, don't worry we have something awesome replacing it!

For more Summertime themed cards, head over to SSI!

New Catalog Countdown - Day 3 Sweet Sugarplum

We are counting down the day until the new catalog launch at SSI and we have just three days left.  Today we are showing off the fabulous new color Sweet Sugarplum.  It is such a lovely shade of lavendar/lilac or whatever you would call it.  Here is a card I created using it:

The card is loosely CASEd from the catalog on page 22 using the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set.  I loved how they did the tone on tone stamping with the cake in the background so I did the same thing.  I brought out Bermuda Bay to go with it and used the Lots of Labels Framelits.  This is definitely a quick and easy card and I love the combo of these colors, I will be coming back to those for sure, maybe adding Island Indigo to the party as well!

For more peeks at the new catalog, head over to SSI!

Masculine Monday - Party Animal

I have a fun under the sea masculine card to share with you today.  Check it out:

I love this fun summery color combo of Real Red, Pacific Point and Tip Top Taupe.
I chose to use the fabulous and retiring By the Tide stamp set.  I sponged the background to make the water and then stamped some of the images right on there.  The lobster was stamped elsewhere, fussy cut and then popped up with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the Party Animal stamp set which will be carried over to the new Annual Catalog.  Here is a peek at the inside:

I had to add the fish inside!

Thanks for looking!  For more Masculine card ideas, head over to SSI.

New Catalog Countdown - Day 4 - Dapper Denim

Are you ready for more peeks at the new Annual Catalog?  We are only four days away from the start date of this fabulous catalog.  Today I am showing off a new bundle and a brand new In Color - Dapper Denim.  Here is my card:

I decided to combine this great new blue with my favorite old in color, Mint Macaron.  I decided to make a masculine card because I have quite a few men in my family with birthdays.  I used the Traveler stamp set along with a great new bundle with a stamp set called Thoughtful Banners and a cool double banner punch.  I embossed the Mint Macaron background and added some linen thread.

For more inside scoop into some new product head back over to SSI!

New Catalog Countdown - Day 5 - Emerald Envy

Welcome to the start of our New Catalog countdown here at SSI!  We have had about a month to play with these fabulous new colors and are rolling them out for you one fabulous hue at a time.  Today we are showing off this great shade of green called Emerald Envy.  Here is a super fun card I made using this great color and one of my favorite new stamp sets Pop of Paradise:

Spoiler alert...I am also showing off the new In Color Flirty Flamingo...I have a hard time not grabbing that color when I use that adorable flamingo stamp!  Emerald Envy is such a pretty rich shade of green.  I am seeing it used for luscious leaves with flower cards and it will be a perfect color for Christmas with Cherry Cobbler!  The background DSP is from the Playful Palette DSP stack.  I added some gold elements here as well with the gold embossed sentiment and the bow clip.

Thanks so much for looking.  Head back over to SSI for more looks at new products to help tide you over for the new catalog!

Bye Bye Blackberry Bliss

I am so sad to see the 2014-2016 in colors retire.  I love them all.  I am hoping that a few of them come back if we do a color refresh in the new future.  Today at SSI we are sharing our favorite retiring in color and mine is of course Blackberry Bliss.  Here is my card:

I used the Picture Perfect stamp set so I could show off the different shades of Blackberry Bliss with the pretty rose.  I added some gold accents with the clip and some gold metallic thread.  Here is the inside:

I had to add some Blackberry Bliss Washi tape as well.
I love all the colors but I think I will miss you most of all Blackberry Bliss!
Head over to SSI to see the other favorite retiring in color projects.

Ombre Butterfly

Today we are sharing our creations using the Masking Technique over at SSI.  Here is my card:

This was a relatively simple card.  I started with an Old Olive card base and added a Whisper White layer.  I created a mask using the Bold Butterfly framelits.  I sponged Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder from the outside in to create the ombre effect.  The sentiment and the leaves come from the Butterfly Basics stamps set.  And of course I had to add some pearls onto the butterfly.  Here is the inside:

I stamped a very faint butterfly in Blushing Bride and added some Pretty Petals DSP along the bottom.  For more creations using masking, head over to SSI.

May Mystery Challenge

Another Monday and we have a fabulous Mystery Challenge for you.  Check it out:

There are lots of fun options here.  I used the colors, circles,  an embossing folder, some metallic accents and the masculine theme.  Here is my card:

I loved the Going Places DSP stack and it included a few of these colors.  I decided to work with the nautical elements and added the seahorse from By the Tide which is sadly retiring.  The metallic element is hard to see, but I have some Gold Thread under the Hello Honey Deco Label (another retiring accessory).

It is your turn now!  Let's see what you can make choosing any three elements, or go CRAZY and use them all!  Head over to SSI and upload your creation!

All the Single Layers

I love layers, embellishments and really complicated cards.  Single layer cards are really struggle for me.  So of course when I saw we were featuring them on SSI, I had to sign up.  I really need to simplify my entire life, and I can start with my stamping.  Have a look see:

I saw this color combo on Pinterest and I knew I had to use it; Blackberry Bliss, Pool Party, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.  And I used it with one of my favorite collage stamp sets; Awesomely Artistic.  This card was so easy to make, don't you love it when a great stamp set makes it easy for you?  I added some candy dots, which are unfortunately retiring.

Do you need more single layer ideas?  Head over to SSI.

Choose Happiness

As excited as I am about a new catalog, that also means that we have to say good bye to some wonderful products. We are spotlighting some of our favorite retiring products.  Today I have a quick and easy card using the Choose Happiness stamp set, one of my go to sets for collage stamping.  Check out:

I used the 2015-2017 in colors for this simple card.  I love stamp sets that have fun images that can work with lots of themes.  I added a little In Color Blossom to the wood grain banner for a fun embellishment.  Those are also retiring.

Thanks for looking.  Head back over to SSI for other projects featuring retiring products.

So She Did

We are showcasing Graduation Cards over at SSI.  I made a perfect one for a female graduate using the retiring Feel Goods stamp set.  Check it out:

I thought I had done a good job most of my Designer Series Paper, but it seems like I still acquired a lot.  This set of paper is so pretty and can be used for so much.  I let the paper do all the work and even stamped on the patterned paper.  There is a complete supply list below that includes a lot of retiring items that you better get while you can!  Head back to SSI for more Graduation Projects.

It's My Party Accessories

The Occasions catalog is chock full of super cute embellishments and accessories.  We are highlighting these products over at SSI.  I had a hard time picking a group, but I decided to focus on the accessories that go with the It's My Party Suite.  Check out my card:

I used the fabulous DSP, bakers twine, enamel dots and washi tape on this fun birthday card!  Here is the inside:

I had to stamp a piece of cake and add some more washi tape inside as well.

Thanks so much for looking at my card today.  Head back over to SSI for more projects featuring the accessories in the Occasions Catalog, most of which will be retiring at the end of the month.

May Card Sketch

We have a great sketch challenge for you today at SSI.  Check it out:

I am trying to use all the fabulous DSP from the Occasions Catalog before we get the new fabulous DSP from the new Annual Catalog.  So I decided to use the Shine On Suite.  Here it is:

I started off with some Watermelon Wonder card stock.  This color is so fun and yummy looking!  I added some of the Shine On DSP and layered on some of the Watermelon Wonder ribbon and a strip of Silver Foil sheet.  I stamped my sentiment in Smoky Slate, inked the edge and matted it on a Silver Metallic Doily.  I added an iced rhinestone in the center for extra sparkle!  Here is the inside:

The sentiment and the bow come from the Pretty Thankful stamp set, which I am sorry to say is retiring and I barely put ink on it.  I will have to make up for it the rest of the month!  I finished the inside off with some of the 2015-2017 In Color Washi Tape in, of course, Watermelon Wonder.

Thanks for looking!  We would love to see what you can create with this card sketch!  Upload your project over at SSI!

Love and Affection

I love being a Stampin' Up! demo because I get to be the first to get new products.  I am showing off my new goodies for the challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper:

Here is my card:

I went with the top row; Flowers, Butterflies, and Twine.  The fun DSP is from the brand spankin' new Specialty Designer Series Paper Affectionately Yours.  I started with a Daffodil Delight card base.  The Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder really pop against these other colors.  The sentiment and the flower come from the stamp set Love and Affection.  And I had to use the oldie, but goodie Papillion Potpourri stamp set along with the butterfly punches.  That fun bright twine is the new Cucumber Crush Thick Twine.  And I added some rhinestones and gold Wink of Stella glitter pen for some sparkle and shine.  Thanks so much for looking.

Picture Perfect Bird

I was so thrilled to see that the stamp set Picture Perfect was being carried over to the new catalog.  I did make a few cards with it but I wanted to play with it a bit more.  When I was over at Fusion Card Challenge, I knew it was the perfect stamp set to use:

Here is my card:

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a Rich Razzleberry layer.  The bird is stamped with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry.  I added some DSP from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.  I finished it off with some Bermuda Bay Thick Twine, Silver Sequin Trim and a Metal Rimmed Pearl.  Thanks so much for looking!

You Are My Happy Place

I love the color challenge over at Color Throwdown, check it out:

I decided to use some new colors; Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach along with Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder for these colors.  Here is my card:

I used the Swirly Bird stamp set along with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies.  I used a Pool Party card base with a layer of Sweet Sugarplum.  I water-colored some Pool Party on the Shimmery White card stock and layered the fun Pool Party swirl die with some clear sequins to act as bubbles.  The sentiment is from the All About Everything stamp set which was from the April Paper Pumpkin set.  Thanks for checking out my card today!

Sweet Sugarplum Thank You

I am a super lucky girl to be away for the weekend at a scrapbooking retreat with a bunch of fabulous ladies!  I had to rush order my pre-order of new Stampin' Up! goodies so I would be able to use them this weekend.  Aside from prepping for classes and future blog posts, I decided to try my hand at some online challenges.  First up is a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Here is my card:

I am showing off lots of new products here and most predominantly is Sweet Sugarplum a fabulous new in color.  It is the card base, the ribbon, the swirl and in the DSP (Painter's Palette).  The sentiment is from a bundle that includes a punch and huge photopolymer stamp set (Thoughtful Banners).  There are some other in colors here as well; Emerald Envy and Peekaboo Peach.  I love that swirl die, it comes in a bundle with a fun stamp set (Swirly Bird) that I will be showing off a lot!  Thanks for checking out my project.

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Today we are having a little party over at SSI so I had to make a "party" card.  Check it out:

This card uses lots of retiring items including one that is sadly no long available (Cups and Kettle Framelit Dies).  I went for a fun festive color scheme of Cucumber Crush, Tangelo Twist and some Crushed Curry.  I embossed the white background with the Arrows Textured Embossing Folder.  Honestly, the sprinkles were an afterthought.  Actually it was covering up a smudge of ink I got on the white.  I did some "Framelit Art" (as opposed to punch art) to make a margarita glass with vellum.  I colored the back of it with a Crushed Curry marker for the drink and added some Dazzling Details on the end of the glass (these are also retiring).  The sprinkles and the sentiment come from the Party With Cake stamp set which will be in the new annual catalog.  And of course I had to add a lime to my margarita!  Here is a peek at the inside:

Some more limes and some of the 2014-2016 Designer Washi Tape.  What a fun festive card!  :)  I can't wait to give it!  Head back over to SSI for more celebration cards!

For Baby

With all the stamps, paper and ink I have, I don't just make cards.  I can make so much more than that.  Today I am sharing a gift card holder that goes with a this gift and card from a few weeks ago (and if I get my act together, I might just get it out in the mail soon!).  Check it out:

I kept with the same color scheme of Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate and I added some gold accents as well.  The BYOP stamp and gift card holder framelits will be in the next catalog but that great bundle price won't be.  So if you want to save 15% this is a great product to get now!  That Chevron Embossing Folder is retiring, so if you don't have that yet, you better grab it soon before it's gone!  Here is a peek at the back:

I love the cute little baby-centered sentiment.  This gift card holder was so easy to make.  If you are worried that giving a gift card for a gift is a little impersonal, you can make a perfectly personal holder.  That special someone can get exactly what they want with the gift card and you can create a unique gift card enclosure with favorite colors or subject!  Head over to SSI for more Gift Card Holder ideas.

May Color Challenge

It's the first Monday of the month so that means we have a new color challenge for you over at SSI. Check it out:

So I never use Always Artichoke, so this challenge was a great excuse for me to bust out that ink pad.  Here is my card:

I made this card at a crop with some friends and they thought I was truly insane.  It definitely took some time which might be hard to tell from just looking at it.  I used the Rose Wonder thinlits three times; one for the Wisteria Wonder rose, one for the Always Artichoke leaves and one for the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (sponged in Wisteria Wonder) insides of the rose.  It was a little puzzle to put together, but honestly, I felt like it was totally worth it.  I added some additional collage stamping with Timeless Textures and instead of putting the leaves back inside, I just sponged the ink inside them.  Here is the inside:

The Rose Wonder Bundle will be in the next catalog, but that great bundle price will not be, so get it now while it is 15% off.  Thanks so much for looking at my card today.  I can't wait to see what you can create with these three colors!  Head over to SSI to upload your project today!
