Love You BIG!

I was chatting with my husband over my craft desk and I had an idea for a card by looking at supplies I hadn't cleaned up from before.  I saw a good challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday celebrating all occasions:

I was working with the Whale of a Time Suite.  Here is my card:

I saw the fish DSP next to the Rainbow Glimmer and the whole card came together.  I grabbed the Love You More Than Dies and cut out the Love You in the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  I added that along with a whale I punched out of the DSP.  I used a Mango Medley card base.  Here is a peek inside:  

I stamped my sentiment in Pacific Point and the coral in Calypso Coral, of course.  I added a strip of Mango Medley DSP with a scale pattern.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration's February Blog Hop

Can you believe it is already time for our February Blog Hop?  And with it being February and close to Valentine's Day our theme is Love is in the Air!  I was happy to play with a bundle that I haven't really used so much along with a fun Love theme.  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! So the bundle I decided to use is the Lift Me Up bundle.  I just love the Hot Air Balloon, even though I think I would never have the guts to go up in one.  Here is my first card:

I used my favorite Valentine's Day color combination of Real Red and Pool Party with a touch of Crumb Cake.  I used the framelits to cut out all the parts of my balloon from the Sending Love DSP stack.  I used Pool Party to stamp the clouds on Whisper White and cut them out with the framelits.  I thought the Love is in the Air was the perfect sentiment!  Here is the inside:

I stamped the little love heart from the Lift Me Up stamp set and added a strip of Sending Love DSP.  I really love using up all the little scraps of my patterned paper this way.

Okay, full disclosure here.  I stumbled upon this card from a mistake.  Originally I had intended on using the detailed balloon die cut from Gold Foil on top of the balloon in the previous card.  But I thought it looked a little too busy so I decided to use to make it the star of this card.  I put it over the Fabulous Foil Acetate.  I added a strip of Sending Love DSP underneath the sentiment and added a gold bow.  I finished the card off with some Real Red enamel hearts on the balloon.  Here is the inside:    

I decided to heat emboss a gold balloon and added another strip of DSP at the bottom.

A Paper Rose

With Valentine's Day fast approaching I wanted to find a little special way to tell my children's teachers how special they are.  Both my kids are blessed with wonderful teachers, and I try not to let a holiday get past without telling them.  I did a little digging on the internet and found this very cool little origami rose box and knew it would be a perfect home for these Strawberry Truffles I bought:

It would be silly for me to explain how I did this, instead I will share the wonderful tutorial I used to create it.  I will share my list of Stampin' Up! supplies as well as some tips.  I tried using card stock and DSP but I found that the best Stampin' Up! paper was the envelope paper.  It folds easiest and was a color match (I used the Flirty Flamingo).  I used a 5" by 5" pieceof paper.  After following the indepth instructions I sponged the edges of the rose and then added a bit of the clear Wink of Stella glitter.  I added some Emerald Envy ribbon as leaves and glued it on with a hot glue gun.  The Love You sentiment comes from Scenic Saying stamp set from the Annual Catalog.

A Bunch of Love

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and there are quite a few people that I should be sending cards too.  I am happy to share a pretty cute one that I made:

This was pretty easy to make.  I just started with a Crumb Cake card base and added a Whisper White background.  I then punched out a bunch of hearts using the Sweetheart punch.  I used some of the Sending Love DSP stack as well as some Red Glimmer Paper.  The sentiment comes from the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set, My Hero.  I decided to make my hearts into a bunch of balloons and tied on some Linen Thread.

January INKspiration Challenge

Happy Monday!  Today we have a great challenge for you over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.  It is time for our INKspiration Challenge where we give you a photo and you create anything you want given the picture.  You can draw inspiration from the colors, the subject, the layout, whatever you want!  Here is this month image:

So two things jump out to me with this image; the big heart and the ombre style coloring.  So I went with both of those when creating my card.  Here is my card:

Once I figured out what I wanted to do, this card came together so quickly.  I just used a Whisper White card base and took my color cues from the image.  I used Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder and cut that beautiful heart from the Bloomin' Heart thinlit dies in each color.  I stacked them up exactly on top of each other and cut the stack in thirds and rebuilt in on the card base.  I added some rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment comes from the Bloomin' Love stamp set and it is stamped in Watermelon Wonder.  I added a bit of striped washi tape in Watermelon Wonder and added a die cut heart from the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  I finished the card off with the a little bow in Blushing Bride baker's twine.

Countdown to Occasions Catalog - Day 4

I hope that you are in the midst of a wonderful New Year.  I got a chance to spend New Year's Eve with great friends and family.  One of the fun things I got to do was craft with my nieces.  One of them is very creative and of course loved being in my studio with me.  If only we lived closer to each other and then we could create together more often.  I helped them create a birthday card for their cousin.  Then afterwards I played with some of the new Sending Love Suite perfect for our Countdown to the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  I only have DSP and the wooden embellishments and I created this quick and easy card:

I decided to use Pool Party to go with the Real Wed and Whisper White.  The "love words" background paper is definitely one of my favorite from this stack.  I just layered some Pool Party card stock under some Whisper White and stamped me sentiment, which is from the So In Love stamp set (you might be seeing this set again in our countdown).  I tied some of the Stitched Satin Ribbon in Pool Party.  That ribbon ties so nicely!  I added some wooden elements to the sentiment and then I tied a few other on using some of the Red Metallic Thread.  This would be a cute engagement or anniversary card or of course a Valentine's Day card.

Guy Greetings meets Going Global

I love making flowery, sparkly brightly colored cards.  So sometimes I feel like I tend to struggle with masculine cards.  Thankfully Stampin' Up! has lots of great stamps and DSP to make this super easy.  I decided to combine two masculine stamp sets, Guy Greetings and Going Global.  Check out my card:

I also used some newer DSP with an older ribbon.  The Going Places Suite is great for guy cards but I thought I would pull out the anchor from Guy Greetings.  The strip of compass paper was actually some scraps I had left, so glad I kept it.  I stamped the compass from Going Global in Sahara Sand and then layered the anchor over top in Mossy Meadow.  All the DSP comes from the Going Places DSP stack, such great colors and patterns there!  Finally I added the Natural Chevron ribbon because it had a nautical feel for me.  Thanks for looking.  For more masculine cards, head over to SSI where it is Masculine Monday!  

Rose Wonder Valentine

So the Rose Wonder Framelits are so cool!  I had so much fun playing with them today.  I made a pretty Rose Valentine card that would be perfect for the "Just Add V" challenge over at Just Add Ink.  Here is my card:

I cut the rose from the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and glued in onto some Rose Red card stock.  I cut two sets of leaves from Garden Green card stock.  I added those to the tiny rosebud patterned paper from the Love Blossoms DSP stack.  I use the My Valentine stamp from Bloomin' Love and added a loop of that yummy pink and gold baker's twine from last year's Paper Pumpkin kit.  I think I will give this card to my daughter for Valentine's Day, she will love the sparkly rose for sure!  Thanks for looking!

  

Rose Wonder Wedding Card

I had a friend over to stamp with me today and she brought the Rose Wonder stamp and framelit set and let me play with it!  The best friends share their stamps!  I had so much fun with this set.  I made a wedding card using this set along with the Timeless Textures.  I thought it would be good for the Love challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper Challenges.  Here is the challenge:

Here is my card:

I cut the large rose and leaves in Whisper White and then sponged it with Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo.  I used my fine tip glue pen to glue it down on more Whisper White and then colored inside with some Stampin' Write markers.  I added some background stamping in Sahara Sand.  This stamp set has so many wonderful sentiments in it.  I can't wait to play with it some more!  Thanks for looking!

So here is a peek at the two elements that I started with first before I get to the big reveal:

Part of the Paper Pumpkin Kit was to make a banner, but I wanted to make a bigger banner so I paired it with the Build a Banner Kit and used some other lovey dovey products to finish it off.  Here is my banner:

So aside from those two kits, I also used the Hearts Mask, the sweetheart punch, and in addition to the Watermelon Wonder sequin trim from the Paper Pumpkin Kit, I added the Blushing Bride and Silver Sequin Trim.  I was so happy to combine these two kits and make a sweet and unique Valentine's Day home decor piece.

February Card Sketch

Another Monday and another fabulous challenge from the gals at SSI.  Today we have a sketch for you.  Check it out:

Perfect for Valentine's Day, right?  Here is my take on the sketch:

This was hard to get a good picture since I used a gold foil doily from the Love Blossom Accessory Pack.  I stamped the Be Mine (from the January Paper Pumpkin) in Rose Red and then coated it with clear embossing powder and heat set it.  The DSP is from the Love Blossoms Stack which is so pretty.  I added some sequins also from the Love Blossoms Accessory Pack and finished it off with some pink and gold baker's twine from last year's Valentine's Day paper pumpkin kit.

A Little Bit of Love

Today we are showcasing Valentine's Day projects over at SSI.  I have the first part of my project to show you.  I made six little mini cards using the fabulous Love Blossoms DSP stack and the Blooming Love stamp set.  Check them out:

That yummy pink and gold bakers twine was left over from a Paper Pumpkin kit.  And of course I remembered to stamp the mini envelope as well!

This one was so simple, but straight to the point.  I also made envelope liners with that great paper!

This might be my favorite.  I love showing off all that cute paper with those little hearts!

This one was quick and easy and to the point, lots of hugs and kisses!

Okay maybe this one is my favorite.  I love that floral paper.  

This one is cute too and I am using a scrap of the Blushing Bride Glimmer paper, so that was perfect!

Bloomin' Love

When I first saw the Valentine's Day line in the Occasions catalog I had a mixed reaction.  I loved the DSP and the accessory pack, but I wasn't so sure about the stamp set and coordinating thinlit set.  Well some reason I decided that I needed to give it a chance and I am so glad I did.  I have a Valentine's Day card that was pretty easy to make.  Check it out:

I decided to just cut the gorgeous heart out in Rose Red.  I have played with using foil and seen it done with glimmer paper too, but I wanted to just use card stock.  But of course I had to add some sparkle, so I cut out the flowers in the beautiful Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.  I added some pearls and just stamped a very simple My Valentine sentiment in Blushing Bride.  Here is a close up of the intricate diecuts.

I kept the inside simple as well because for me, I don't need to say too much inside a card to my husband.  Mostly because I have said it all out loud, time and time again.

January INKspiration Challenge

Happy Monday!  We have a great challenge for you this week at SSI.  I might be biased because it is now a challenge that I am responsible for.  The third Monday of the month is an INKspiration challenge.  I designate an image, usually to go with the season or some of our popular stamps or DSP and you create any project you want that is inspired from the image.  You can use the colors, shapes, subject matter, whatever your little heart desires!  So let's see what we have in store for this month:   

YUMMY, right?  I think I need to drop some not so subtle hints that I would love some chocolate covered strawberries from my hubby.  Anyways, here is what I came up with:

Yep, I made the strawberries!  I had to!  I won the Apple of My Eye stamp set at a Stampin' Up! event I went to so I was happy to fine a chance to use it.  I am not sure I would have bought it, so I am glad I won it.  The image is actually supposed to be a pear and it's solid.  So you are probably saying, how did you do that?  I did some KISSing!  I used the flowery pattern stamp from I Think You're Great and inked it up in Real Red, that used that as my new ink pad for the strawberry shape.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  I had to make them extra fancy too so I added some sequins and red Dazzling Details.  Here is the inside:

New Catalog Countdown Day 1 - Going Places Suite

It's here!  Today you can have at the whole Occasions Catalog and earn some fabulous new Sale-A-Bration products!  Try not to break the internet!  We have been sharing peeks at new products and projects over at SS Inkspiration for the past few days.  Here is a out last special look for you.  Today I am showing off the Going Places Suite.

Here is a quick Circle Flip Card I made with the fabulous Going Places DSP.  I used a Mossy Meadow card base and layered more Mossy Meadow embossed with the Happy Hearts embossing folder.  Don't you love that map paper?  The Going Places DSP stack is full of awesome patterns!  

This is my favorite so far.  Don't you love that embossing folder of the world map?  The colors of this card are Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon and Basic Black.  I loved that compass paper as well.  The world stamp and the sentiment come from the Going Global stamp set.  It is hard to see in the picture but on the scallop around the world I coated it with the Wink of Stella glitter pen.  I did add some splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge set on the background for some extra texture. 

This card is perfect for your favorite astronomer!  I love the star paper and the Big Dipper stamp.  I decided to use the Star Confetti punch with some Delightful Dijon card stock on top of the star paper for some extra star!  I added some gold sequin for some more sparkle!

This final card uses an AWESOME Sale-A-Bration stamp set that is only available until the middle of February.  It is call The Sky is the Limit.  I stamped the plane on some Going Places DSP with the Black Archival Ink and added Wink of Stella glitter in the heart cloud.  I added a vellum propeller.  This is such an easy card to make!

New Catalog Countdown Day 3 - Love Blossoms Suite

Three more days until you can begin buying from the new Occasions catalog.  And it's a really good one!  At SS Inkspiration we are counting down the days and giving you little sneak peeks along the way.  Today I am sharing with you projects created with the Love Blossoms Suite.

Up first is a card made using the Love Blossoms Bundle and the DSP stack.  The bundle includes a cute Valentine's Day set and a coordinating set of thinlit dies.  See that pretty Gold Foil die cut, you can make that!  It's so pretty!  And you can cut those little flowers as well.  I added sequins from the accessory pack that goes with this set.  This card came together super quick.  

This card uses a fun floral DSP background and the really pretty floral heart stamp from the set.  I layered on a piece of vellum that I had embossed the valentine sentiment in gold.  So easy!

This card is my favorite.  It uses that floral heart layered on a gold metallic foil doily.  I love the rose bud DSP.  And do you see that pretty swirly Blushing Bride paper?  That is a Sale-A-Bration item, which means you can get it for free with a $50 purchase!  The swirly paper comes in several colors and will help you create all through spring.  I fussy cut the Be Mine banner and added a few sequins from the Love Blossoms accessory pack.
