Sparkle and Shine and Shine On

Stampin' Up! has so many fabulous lines in the Occasions catalog.  One of my last purchases was the Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper along with the Sparkle and Shine stamp set.  I love the contrast of the kraft background with the silver foil accents.  I made this cute "Miss You" card:

I started off with a Soft Sky card base and added the shiny cloud paper.  I added some of the Water Melon Wonder 1 inch stitch ribbon over some strips of the Metallic Glitter Tape (which I believe is unfortunately sold out).  I stamped the rain drops onto some more Soft Sky card stock using Soft Sky ink.  I layered that onto a Watermelon Wonder scalloped circle.  I added some of the silver thread under the sentiment.

I love it when a card comes together so easily and Stampin' Up makes it easy with their fabulous coordinating products!  For more Shimmer and Shine ideas, head over to SSI!

Happy Ombre Spring

It's another Monday and I am back with another challenge from SSI.  It's our Mystery Challenge, check it out:

So many great elements right?  I decided to combine this with sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  When you see it, you will know why:

Here is my card:

I decided to use the diamonds, ombre and spring themed elements.  For my ombre effect, I used Blushing Bride Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder together.  I love how these three work together.  This card was in my head for awhile, so it actually only took about 10 minutes to create.  Love it when that happens!  For a complete shopping list, check out below.  Now its your turn to add a card SSI's Mystery Challenge.  Pick any three elements from the image above and upload your creation!

A Blue and Gold Birthday

Today over at SSI we are talking about banners.  Instead of making a banner or even putting a banner on a card, I decided to use the Banner Framelits on a very special birthday card, for my aunt.  I also used a fabulous color combo from the Color Throwdown.  Check out the colors:

So not only was I inspired by those colors, I also love that mug.  And I thought, hey I can do that.  Here is my card:

I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit die four times and kept all the pieces and then filled them in on the white one after I glued it down on the Lost Lagoon card base.  The aqua is Pool Party and I used some Gold Foil sheets which just were on the Weekly Deals, glad I stocked up!  For the best cuts with this thinlit, I would use it with the Precision Base Plate.  Here are some close ups:

For the banner, I layered the Whisper White onto a larger Pool Party one.  The sentiment comes from the Tin of Cards stamp set and I added some extra background stamping from Timeless Textures.  I also twirled some of the gold thread onto the back of the banners for some extra shine.

I knew I needed something else, and I thought a gold butterfly would be perfect.  I layered it onto a vellum one.  Side note, the gold foil popped right out of the thinlit with the Big Shot Die Brush.  I added some pearls for the body.

Thanks so much for looking at my card today.  Head back over to SSI for more banner projects.

Spring has Sprung

As much as I love the winter Holidays, I am ready for the warmer spring weather.  And today we are all about spring at SSI.  I have a fun floral card to share with you.  Nothing says spring more than fun flowers!

The layout from this card came from an old sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  I actually never got a chance to upload it.  A few things to note about this card, the Botanical Garden bundle is pricey but it comes with the stamp, framelits dies and Designer Series Paper (which is gorgeous).  With the cost you can easily get either of the matching Sale-A-Bration items, the vellum or the Botanicals For You stamp set.  Of course I had to use other stamps because what good is the whole catalog if I can't use it all, right?  Also something to mention, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey will be retiring, so now is the time to stock up on card stock and ink refills.  They will be the first to go once the retirement list comes out.

Thanks for checking out my card today.  For more spring inspired projects, head over to SSI.

March Inkspiration Challenge

It's Monday already and we have a fun spring inspired challenge for you over at SSI.  Check out the following image:

The cherry blossoms have started to bloom a bit by me over in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  I wish I could be in Washington DC to see them all!  Your challenge is to create something, anything INKspired by this image.  You can use the colors, the composition, the subject.  Here is my take on this challenge:

I chose the colors and the subject to focus on.  Instead of cherry blossoms, I grabbed the fun Definitely Dahlia stamp.  I used Melon Mambo to stamp it on white then sponged on Blushing Bride in the white spots and cut that flower out.  It is hard to see in the picture but I coated the Blushing Bride parts with the Wink of Stella clear glitter to add a little bit of shine.  Of course I added some more rhinestones to the center for more sparkle.  I embossed the Whisper White background with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  My sentiment is from the Natural Expressions Wood Elements colored with a Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker.  This card was in my head for a bit before I could actually find the time to make it but it came together quickly.  Thanks for checking it out.  Now its your turn to create something INKspired by that great image and upload it over at SSI!

March Card Sketch

It's Monday and we have a great challenge for you over at SSI.  Today its a fabulous sketch, check it out:
o

Super fun and springy, right?  Here is my card:

As much as I love the new flower stamp and and die set, I decided to use the Flower Patch bundle.  I am guessing this one might retire and hoping that the Botanical Gardens stamp and die set carries over to the new catalog.  I decided to give this one a little love for this card challenge.  I used it along with the Wildflower Fields DSP from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I love the little dandelion background and added some of the other DSP as banners behind the flowers.  I used the same colors from the DSP.  Check out a complete list of supplies below.  Now its your turn to use this great sketch to create a card and upload it over at SSI.

Dressing Up a Gift Bag

Over at SSI we are looking at our A, B, C's...Anything But a Card that is.  I have a quick project to share with you.  I took a gift bag and made it a little extra special.  Check it out:

I just used some items from the Birthday Bouquet Suite.  I love this technique where you fold over the paper to show off both sides of the DSP.  I used it on a card yesterday and thought it would be cute for this panel.  I added some of the Metallics Glitter Tape for some sparkle along with some Mint Macaron Lace and some Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.

Thanks for checking out my non card project.  Head over to SSI to see more!

March Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our March Blog Hop where we are Celebrating Sale-A-Bration!  It is the final month, did you get a chance to earn everything you wanted?  I love it all and I can't wait to see what all the other fabulous designers came up with using these great products!  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 1 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - (Darcy at DJ's Stampin' Place). If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I have three cards to share with you using several different Sale-A-Bration products.  First up is a quick and easy card featuring the awesome Wildflower Fields DSP.

With such a fun floral background, I didn't want to do too much with this card.  But it seemed natural to put a butterfly in a wildflower field!  Check out the little bit of sparkle with the Metallics Glitter Tape!

Next up is a very cute water-colored chick.

I decided to do this fun technique that shows off both sides of Designer Series Paper.  I just cut the paper and creased it to show both sides.  I used the Shimmery White paper and stamped the chick with the Basic Black Archival.  Then I used my aqua painters and water-colored the little cutie.  I cut him out with my favorite framelits and layered him on a gold Metallic Doily.  I love how it looks like his little chickie head is cocked to the side.

For my last card, I used the Sale-A-Bration products that coordinate with the Botanical Gardens Suite.

I love that large "just for you" sentiment, but wanted to try something a little different with it.  I stamped it on the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum with Mossy Meadow and then coated it with some clear embossing powder and heat set it.  I used the coordinating patterned paper for the Designer Series Paper and added some additional stamping on the leaves and flowers and layered the vellum on top of it.  I added some of the washi tape and the rest of my sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Up next is Kathy over at Kathy's Stampin' World.  She has such great ideas.

Bonjour Beautiful

I decided to mix old and new products for a sweet little girl card I made for SSI where we are talking about babies!  Check it out:

I just love the soft pretty colors of the Birthday Bouquet DSP, they seem so girlie to me.  So I thought they would make cute little onesies!  It had been awhile since I used the Baby's First Framelits Dies.  I only used the onesie and hanger but this set is essential for scrapbooking for a new baby.  Even if you are using Project Life, you can create cute die cuts to coordinate with the card kit you have.  I used the large Polka Dot embossing folder for some texture on the Whisper White background.  I love the baby sentiments from the stamp set Happy Happenings...Bonjour Beautiful and Hello Handsome are both so cute!  The pop of Watermelon Wonder is actually the 2015-2017 In Color  Designer Series Washi Tape, which is a hostess reward from the Occasions Catalog.  I finished the card off with some Blushing Bride Sequin Trim and a part of a Tea Lace Doily.

Thanks so much for looking.  Below is a complete shopping list.  Head back over to SSI for more Baby Inkspired creations!

March Color Challenge

Happy Monday to you!  We have a fabulous color challenge for you over at SSI.  Check it out:

I decided to use a stamp set from the Occasions Catalog that hadn't seen as much ink as some of the other.  Here is my card:

It wasn't until after I made this card that I realized that is it slightly CASE'd from the catalog.  I really like that cute butterfly from the stamp set Grateful Bunch.  I stamped it twice in Rich Razzleberry without reinking to get that link purple.  I love the lace border that you can make with this stamp set as well.  It is a photopolymer set so its super easy to line up.  I used to Sale-A-Bration items here, the Wildflower Fields DSP and the Glitter Tape.  You need them both, they are fabulous!  Here is a complete supple list:

Now it's your turn to create with this wonderful color palette!  Head over to SSI for more inkspiration and to upload yours!

Balloon Celebration

Balloons are like the new Butterflies!  They are the big trend right now.  So we are focusing on balloons over at SSI.  I have a quick and easy card to share.  Yes you are in the right place, I did say quick and easy.  This is my struggle, but sometimes I can keep it simple!  Here is my card:

This would be a great card for a Bridal Shower or maybe an Engagement Party.  I just used a Whisper White card base and stamped a collection of balloons in Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz and watermelon Wonder.  The strings and sentiments are in Smoky Slate.  I decided to pop two balloons out for some dimension.  If you are getting this stamp set, you have to get the bundle because the punch is great!

Thanks so much for looking.  For more balloon centered projects, head over to SSI!

World Wild Life Day

Today is World Wild Life Day, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to showcase our wild life stamps over at SSI.  I have the perfect card for you if you work in an office with a bunch of animals.  Check it out:

They are really cute animals of course.  I had the set Zoo Babies and haven't really done much with it.  I knew I wanted to use the It's Wild background stamp, and I liked how the Basic Black looked with the Tip Top Taupe.  The animals are all stamped in colors from the Neutrals collection.  It came together quickly and I just think they are so cute!  I would love to use the same layout in some pretty soft colors for a baby card and add some more accessories.  But I thought this was "wild" enough.

Thanks for looking.  For more wildlife inspired cards, head over to SSI!
