Adventure Awaits

I decided to work with some of the fabulous new in colors for a quick card with the World of Good Suite.  I saw a great sketch over at Mojo Monday:

As much as I love the Whale of a Time Suite that I had been using, it was nice to play with some other toys.  Here is my card:

I started with a Cinnamon Cider card base and layered on some more Cinnamon Cider embossed with the Old World 3-D embossing folder.  I used some of the amazing World of Good Specialty DSP.  I love the brass foil on these paper.  I used a combo of the Stitched Shapes and Layering Squares for my sentiment, stamping in Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee.  I loved the quill and inkwell so I added them as well.  I finished off my card with some Gold Metallic Pearls.  Here is a peek at the inside:

I added some more DSP in the inside as well.

Thanks so much for checking out my card today!  What a great sketch!

Love You BIG!

I was chatting with my husband over my craft desk and I had an idea for a card by looking at supplies I hadn't cleaned up from before.  I saw a good challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday celebrating all occasions:

I was working with the Whale of a Time Suite.  Here is my card:

I saw the fish DSP next to the Rainbow Glimmer and the whole card came together.  I grabbed the Love You More Than Dies and cut out the Love You in the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  I added that along with a whale I punched out of the DSP.  I used a Mango Medley card base.  Here is a peek inside:

I stamped my sentiment in Pacific Point and the coral in Calypso Coral, of course.  I added a strip of Mango Medley DSP with a scale pattern.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Birthday Fishes

I just can't get enough of the Whale of a Time Suite.  The paper is so fun!  I found a great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

This sketch has a more contemporary feel than I usually go for, so I thought it would be good to stretch myself creatively.  Here is my card:

I started with a Granny Apple Green card base and then I layered on the fishy DSP.  I cut some Pacific Point triangles and embossed them with the Seabed embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment with Pacific point and added some stamped fish in Calypso Coral onto some Whisper White punched with the Timeless Label punch.  I finished the card off with some sequins and some Pool Party ribbon.

Here is a peek inside:

I added some seaweed DSP and a turtle stamped in Just Jade.

I just love this whole suite so much.  Thanks for visiting!

Whale Done

I have another card to share with you that uses the Whale of a Time suite.  This time I used the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I just love all the fun DSP from this suite.  I started off in one direction, but I ended up going somewhere different.  Here is my card:

I started with a Pool Party card base and I added the ocean floor DSP.  For my three elements, I started with the whale stamped in Gray Granite and punched with the Whale Builder punch.  Then, I stamped and embossed the fish is Calypso Coral onto some vellum.  And for the sentiment I stamped it in Calypso Coral and layered it over some Calypso Coral card stock.

This was such a fun card to make.  Thanks for visiting my page!

A Magical Birthday

I just love the Whale of a Time Suite!  I decided to mix it up with the lovely Magical Mermaid stamp set that retired last year.  And I saw a perfect sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday with a Make a Splash optional theme.  Here is the sketch:

I was very inspired all those fabulous designers but wanted to try to do something different.  Here is my card:

I started with a Pool Party card base and embossed the front with the Seabed 3-D embossing folder.  I layered some of the Whale of a Time DSP on some Pretty Peacock card stock, corner rounded on the bottom.  I stamped the mermaid with Memento and colored her in with Stampin' Blends (Bermuda Bay Light and Dark, Ivory and Calypso Coral Dark), fussy cut her out and put her in the water with dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral and layered that on top of a strip of coral print DSP.  I finished the card off with some sequins in her hair and shells to anchor the sentiment.  I also coated the mermaid's scales with the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

I love when I can pair a great sketch with some old and new stampin' goodies!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Thanks a Ton

I received a lovely handmade necklace and bracelet from a woman I was introduced to through a mutual friend.  She posted some samples of her work and I asked her to design something for me and she went above and beyond.  So I needed to make her something as a thank you in return.  I needed a little help getting started so I found a great sketch over at The Paper Players

I had just received a huge box of fabulous goodies, including the Whale of a Time Suite.  I knew that was exactly what I wanted to work with!   Here is my card:

I started with a Pretty Peacock card base and added a layer of Pool Party embosses with the Seabed embossing folder.  I added a strip of the Whale of a Time DSP.  Then I layered on some more DSP onto some Pretty Peacock.  I love the ocean floor scenery paper.  I stamped and punched out the whale and used dimensionals to adhere it on.  I stamped my sentiment onto some Whisper White and cut them out with a die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I also added some of the Whale of a Time sequins on the bottom of the sea floor.  Here are some close ups:

For the inside I cut a strip of the seaweed DSP and stamped a little seahorse.

I can't wait to make more with this suite!  The papers are so fun and colorful and the stamp set is super cute!  Stay tuned for more fishy fun!

A Wild Rose for Every Season

I have really enjoyed working with the Flowers for Every Season Suite, but I have mainly focused on the sunflowers.  I decided to look in my stampin' stash for some other sets that might coordinate well.  I think I found a perfect match.  I also found a great sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I decided to use To A Wild Rose to pick up the beautiful roses in the DSP.  Here is my card:

I started with a Misty Moonlight card base and added some more Misty Moonlight that was embossed with the Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder.  I matted the floral DSP onto some Magenta Madness.  I did some two step stamping with my rose and when I die cut it, I wasn't perfect so I inked the edges.  I added some extra pieces inside for some visual interest.  The flower is mounted on a die cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies.  My sentiment is from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.  I finished my card off with some Just Jade ribbon as leaves and a few In Color Enamel Dots.

These colors are so bright and cheery.  I really hope my recipient likes her card.  Thanks so much for looking at my project today!

A Whole New Level of Wonderful

I am just in love with the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.  When I saw the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, I knew I could make it work with this go to set!  Here is the sketch:

Here is a look at my card:

I started with a white card base and added some Cinnamon Cider DSP.  Of course I had to use the Flowers for Every Season DSP. I stamped my sunflower on some Bumblebee card stock with Bumblebee ink.  I chose a die from the Tasteful Labels die set and stamped my sentiment in Just Jade.  I finished up my card with some Jade ribbon and a few in color enamel dots.

Thanks for checking out my card today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Celebrate Sunflowers on Tuesday

It is getting pretty hot in my neck of the woods so I will take any opportunity to head downstairs to my studio.  I saw a great sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

I have really enjoyed working with the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.  Here is the card I created:

I started with a Just Jade card base and layered on some more Just Jade that was embossed with the Tin Tile embossing folder.  I used paper from the Flowers for Every Season DSP, which is my FAVORITE!  I decided to use the smaller sunflower imaged and stamped it with some Stazon and colored with with my blender pens on watercolor paper.  The Celebrate sticker came from the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More Card Pack.  I finished it off with a frosted epoxy droplet that was colored with a Misty Moonlight Stampin Blend and the amazing Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon.

I had so much fun creating this card...it came together so quickly!  I can't wait to give this card away.  So glad you found your way to my page today!

Positively in Love with Positive Thoughts

Today was a busy day in our house.  We got word that our daughter will be getting her braces on in the fall, we continued our project of turning my daughter's "girlie" bike into my son's Iron Man bike (I might have to scrapbook this project, because it's awesome), and played a board game with my family.  I still found some time to craft.  I found a great sketch over a the Paper Craft Crew Challenge:

Vertical Sketch with oval centered on top third with two strips behind and a leaf with color splashes

I decided to play with the Positive Thoughts stamp set along with the Nature's Thoughts Dies.  I also found a great color combination of Pool Party, Magenta Madness and Granny Apple Green:

Here is my card:

I started with a Magenta Madness card base and layered on some Magenta Madness DSP.  I used my Stitched Oval and Scallop oval dies.  For my background paper slivers, I used some silver glimmer paper and a strip of Pool Party with a die cut layered on top.  My stamped images are all from Positive Thoughts stamped in my color palette.  I finished my card off with some retired Granny Apple Green glimmer dots.  Here is a close up:

Here is a look inside using more stamps and another strip of the Magenta Madness DSP:

The Positive Thoughts stamp set is so versatile.  I love it using a subtle, soft color palette as well as a bright one like today.  Magenta Madness is clearly my favorite new in color!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Today's Plan: Make a Fun Fold Card

So when I first looked through the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up Annual Catalog, the Nothing's Better Than Bundle was number one on my list!  But I have had it for a few days and hadn't put any ink to it, until now!  I saw that Just Add Ink had a Fancy Fold Challenge and I just had to give it a go.

So I was trying to figure out what fold I wanted to do.  I went back through all my old Fancy Fold posts to try to find something I haven't done in awhile.  And I found it...a Card in a Box.  Here is my creation:

So the first thing I had to do was come up with a color scheme.  I grabbed my color coach (a gift I give to all my team members) and saw one that would be perfect: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Petal Pink.  The card base/box was made with Early Espresso and I added some retired Petal Pink DSP.  My tags are all cut from Whisper White.  All my words are either stamped in or die cut from Early Espresso.  The cute little images are stamped in Crumb Cake, Petal Pink and Early Espresso.  I used Window Sheets to hold up the little pop out pieces.  I added some ribbon and sequins to finish my card off.  Here are some close ups of each tag.

This card was so much fun to make.  I can't wait to play with this bundle more!  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!

A Beautiful Journey

Well after several days of beautiful weather, we finally got a rainy day here.  So it was the perfect time for me to steal away to my studio to create.  I found a perfect creative springboard over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I decided to work with the Beautiful World bundle and make a card with a little more masculine style to it.  But of course I still need to play with the yummy new In Colors from Stampin' Up!  Here is my card:

I started with a Cinnamon Cider card base and added a dotty Cinnamon Cider DSP sheet as a background.  My sentiment is from the Beautiful World stamp set but the tag is from the Tasteful Labels Dies.  That is the best set of labels dies, a must have for sure!  I decided to keep with my In Colors and used Misty Moonlight and Just Jade for the worlds.  I cut out the water with a denimy style sheet from the In Color DSP stack.  Then the land was cut form some Just Jade card stock.  I added a few In Color Enamel Dots and some Just Jade ribbon to finish it off.

This would be a great card for Congrats, Good Luck or even just a Miss You.  Thanks for visiting my site today!

You are a special color!

Ok, I am making it blog official.  I am in love with Magenta Madness.  Crafting with it makes me so happy, it is so fun and vibrant!  So when I saw the challenge over at Color Throwdown included a pink, I knew it was go time!  Here is the color challenge:

So I decided to play with the Tasteful Textures Bundle.  I was excited to use some gold to glitz it up a bit.  Here is my creation:

I started with a Magenta Madness card base and added some Coastal Cabana that was embossed with the Scripty 3D embossing folder.  I layered some Magenta Madness ribbon on some retired white burlap like ribbon.  For the stamping, I used Versa Mark and used my heat tool on gold embossing powder on the white tag I cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies.  I colored in the flower with my Magenta Madness Stampin' Blends.  I layered that on some gold foil and finished the card off with some gold metallic pearls and some retired Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel dots.

What a fabulous color combo, right?  I was so happy to get some time to create today on this beautiful day!  Thanks for checking out my project and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Just Saying Hello to Magenta Madness

I am back on this beautiful Tuesday with a card I cooked up quickly using the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  Here is a look at the fabulous sketch:

So when I see a sketch like this, I think I need to show off the fabulous Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up!  I am in love with the Flowers for Every Season DSP because it showcases the new in colors.  I truly love them all, but I haven't played a lot with Magenta Madness, until today.  Here is my card:

I started with a Magenta Madness card base and layered on that gorgeous floral DSP.  I added the stripes for a fun contrast.  For the top banner, I embossed some Just Jade with the Subtle Embossing Folder, a must have for anyone who likes to emboss paper.  I was going to add Just Jade ribbon behind the sentiment but then I remembered I had the Gingham Bumblebee ribbon and had to go that route.  The colors are so fun that it just seemed like pattern mixing was the way to go.  I used the sentiment from the Tasteful Touches stamped on Whisper White cute with my Stitched Shapes circle dies matted on a Just Jade scallop circle.  There are also some in color enamel shapes hidden in there.

I love how fast this card came together.  Now if I can just get off my butt and send my cards!  Thanks so much for visiting today!

Let's Celebrate Sunflowers

I am back with a goal to create and blog a little each day!  To get initially motivated I am going to be entering some online creative challenges.  I found a perfect color challenge and mixed it with a fun sketch challenge.

I decided to use some new toys.  For the colors here is what I picked:

I just love the new in color Misty Moonlight!  I thought it would pair nicely with Granny Apple Green.  Then for the lighter shade of blue I chose Pool Party...mostly because I want to go to one!  And for the purple color, I went with Rich Razzleberry.

I knew I wanted to play with the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.  It is an absolute MUST HAVE.  The dies cut beautifully, the stamps are gorgeous and the sentiments are perfect!  Here is my card:

I started with a Misty Moonlight card base and added a layer of the Misty Moonlight DSP paper with the words as a background.  I stamped my big sunflower in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White then colored it with some Stampin' Blends.  When I die cut it, I didn't have it lined up perfectly so there was some white around the edges...so I sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink.  I also cut the intricate flower in Rich Razzleberry and layered it on top.  For the leaves, I did the same thing with Granny Apple Green.  I stamped my sentiment in Pool Party and added some retired Pool Party shimmer ribbon underneath it.  Finally I took my Pool Party Stampin Blends, colored some pearls and added a few for a little extra.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
