Wedding Cards

The wedding suite in the occasions catalog is just fabulous!  I want it all, but decided on just a few things that I could get to go with some things that I already have.  Here is a pretty fancy looking wedding card that really took no time to make!

I love the Something Lacy background stamp along with the Sahara Sand Lace Trim.  Here are some close ups:

Hopefully you can see that the whole card is spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spray to give it a nice shine.  Thanks for looking!  Check out more great Wedding Cards over at SSI

January's Layout Sketch

I have a great Layout Sketch today from SSI.  It is a two pager, which is perfect for those who still do traditional scrapbooking.  I am leaning towards Project Life for my kids' albums but every now and again, I love to get back into some old 12 by 12 layouts.  Here is this month's sketch:

Here is my take on it.  I used some pictures from a maternity photo session I had done.  Even though I was huge, I really loved these pictures!

I used the fabulous Best Year Ever DSP from Sale-A-Bration as well as the Best Day Ever stamp set.  For my title I used lots of words from various different stamp sets.  Thanks for looking,  Be sure to upload your take on this fabulous sketch at SSI.

Here is my take:

I knew I wanted to use the Big Day stamp and I am LOVING the Best Year Ever DSP.  I feel like Stampin' Up! hit it out of the park this year with Sale-A-Bration.  Here is a close up:

Lotus Blossum

Now that Sale-A-Bration is in full effect, I thought I would take some time to share one of my very favorite stamp set, Lotus Blossum.  It is a three step photopolymer stamp set.  Each part of the flower is labeled to help you determine the order to stamp and has a tab to help line everything up perfectly.  This first card is my FIRST try with this stamp set.  I used Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry.

It is so easy.  Here are a few more cards using this fabulous stamp.  For the next one I used Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe.  The background paper here is the Irresistibly Yours DSP sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe.

And finally here is  my third card.  I used Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride.

These cards did not take long at all to make.  I can't wait to make more!  You can earn this set free (along with the Irresistibly Yours DSP) free with any $50 purchase.

Project Life - Everyday Adventures

I love Project Life!  I have decided to use it for my kids' albums because there is just not enough time in the day anymore.  I also need to remember to make a few pages for myself as well.  Here is a page I made quickly with some photos we had taken at the end of November.

I used the Everyday Adventures Project Life Kit as well as a few other coordinating accessories in Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz.  I used the Perfect Pennants stamp set because the sentiments seemed to perfectly capture the photos.

Thanks for looking!  Be sure to check out more great Project Life ideas at SSI.

January's Card Sketch

Let's get sketchy with a fabulous sketch from the gals at SSInk.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my take:

I used that fabulous Swallowtail stamp and colored it with the Calypso Coral Blendabilities.  Then I added the large butterfly die from the new catalog.  A quick banner and a thank you sentiment embossed and I was done.  This is my version of a quick and easy card.  Or course it still includes coloring and wet embossing.  Thanks for looking!

Baby got BACKgrounds!

Hello and thanks for checking out my projects for today.  I am new to the design team at SSI and I am so excited to share my work with you.  I thought I would shine the spotlight on something often found in the background...background stamps!  Sometimes even after ALL the fabulous Designer Series Paper you have collected (cough, hoarded) over the years, you just don't have the right colors.  Here is where you can use your background stamps to make your creations even more unique!  I am going to show five fantastic ways you can use background stamps.

First up is the great masks found in the Annual Catalog.  They are inexpensive and you can make your background whatever colors you want.

Next up, I created my own rainbow background using the dots on the Painted Petals Stamp set.  I then embossed the So Very Kind of You in black on vellum and layered on top.

For this next card I used the Dictionary background to fill the negative space made by the Deco Labels framelit.  I then layered on the word bubble for a fun Hello Card with some ribbon and a clip.

Below I used the kissing stamp technique.  I inked up my hardwood background stamp and then used that as my stamp pad to get the fun pattern onto the heart from Perfect Pennants.  I made another little rainbow as well here and used a sentiment from the same stamp set.

Finally for this last card I inked up my Something Lacy Background stamp with the Tuxedo Black Memento ink, stamped on Whisper White and then colored with the Blendabilities.

Do you have background stamps collecting dust in your stamp collection?  I hope my projects have INKspired you to get them out and get them INKY!  Thanks for looking!

SSInk Occasions Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Occasions Blog Hop!  Today I am featuring some projects using the Butterfly Basics Bundle.  Last year I went through a butterfly phase, and with the release of this great stamp and thinlit set, I am feeling them again!   As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 4 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Kathy at Katrina P's Creative Corner. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I will start off with a few simple cards.  The first uses the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and the Bitty Butterfly Punch.

Here I am using the same stamp set and this time I used the butterfly framelit.  I colored the flower in with some blender pens.  Notice I am showcasing the 2013 - 2015 In Colors.  They will be retiring in the June and I will definitely miss them!

Below are some easy cards that use the amazing smaller butterfly thinlit along with some strips of the Designer Series Paper Stacks.

And here we have the little Kraft Journals embellished with the butterfly thinlit.  This time I chose the 2014 - 2016 In Colors...they are so fun a bright and I love how they coordinate.  I also love the fun clothespins that would perfectly mark your page in the journal!

Here is another card I previously posted using the butterfly thinlit and the Irresistibly Yours DSP you can earn free with any $50 purchase.  I colored the DSP with the Calypso Coral Blendabilities which can also be earned free with any $50 purchase.

Here is an extended flip card I made.  Pardon my fingers...a reminder that I need a manicure!  I used the Gold Soiree DSP which is currently on the Weekly Deals.  It is a MUST HAVE!  There are such pretty colors and the gold accents make it elegant as well.

And finally here is the large butterfly thinlit with some colored watercolor paper beneath it.  Special thanks to Linda Bauwin for a fabulous tutorial on this great technique.  I thought it would make a great accent to a tag and perfectly coordinate with the Painted Petals DSP box I made with the Gift Box board.  Seriously, if you hoard paper, get one of these and make your own gift boxes!  It is so easy!

I just love the butterflies products!  I know I will be reaching for this stamp set and matching thinlit set for a long time.  Which project is your favorite?  Next up is Diana over at Stampin' Fun with Diana, let's see what she has created!

Welcome to the Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration!

It's finally here!  This catalog goes live today!  Don't worry, there are a few carry over items (including the Curvy Keepsakes Box Die and the Wondrous Wreath Bundle).  But the new stuff is so awesome!  Today, I am going to showcase the Painted Petals stamp set and DSP.  For the first two cards, I didn't do a lot of stamping because the DSP is just so beautiful, I thought it did most of the work!

Here are two other cards I had previously posted also using this stamp set.

Thanks for looking!  Be sure to check out the other creations from the team at SSInk!

Valentine's Day

Today over at SSInkspiration we are focussing on Valentine's Day Card.  I thought I would share a card I made using a stamp set that has lots of different sentiments.  Here is my card:

I used Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Smoky Slate and Whisper White for my colors.  Here are some other creations with the same stamp set, One Tag Fits All:

Sheltering Tree

Here is another sneak peek at a fabulous new stamp set coming out tomorrow called Sheltering Tree.  Here is my card using this stamp set:

I also used these fun heart clusters from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp set as well as the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder and finished it off with some Sahara Sand Lace Trim.  And I thought the tree needed some sparkle so I added some rhinestones too.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous creations from the other design team members at SSInkspiration.

January's Color Challenge

Welcome to the first Monday of the month where we at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration have a great new color challenge for you.  If you think that you have the winter blues, this might be perfect for you.  For me, the best cure for the blues is some crafting time.  Here is the color scheme:

Here is my card:

I decided to make a quick and easy Hello card that would work for anyone, anytime of the year.  I used some fabulous products I picked up during the Online Extravaganza.  Be sure to take advantage of the great promotions that Stampin' Up! offers!  Thanks for looking!
