Flight of the Butterfly

Stampin' Up! loves their butterflies!  We have stamps, punches, framelits, DSP and a fabulous embossing folder.  Today I am sharing with you some of those supplies, with a monochromatic card along the same lines as a card I had created awhile ago for a challenge.  Hey sometimes you just have to CASE yourself!  

Here I used Tangerine Tango, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder.  I embossed all three panels in the background with the Fluttering Embossing Folder.  I love how this is 6 x 6 because you can make your cards in either direction, landscape or portrait!  For the butterfly, I used Dazzling Diamonds paper and cut with the Butterfly Thinlits.  I then spritzed the butterfly with Watermelon Wonder.  I love how I can custom make my embellishments with a reinker and a spritzer! I layered that on top of some vellum cut with the Bold Butterfly Framelits.  The sentiment comes from Happy Happenings and its punched with the Label Bracket punch and placed on top of some Calypso Coral baker's twine.  I love these colors together, especially Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder!

4th of July

It is now officially July and we have the holiday coming up this weekend.  For me, I have Patriotic Decor around my house from mid May until mid July.  I have made a lot of different home decor pieces.  But today I have a quick and easy Americana card to share with you.  It would be a perfect card to give thanking someone for hosting a BBQ on Saturday. 

My color scheme was Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White and a touch of silver embossing powder.  The stars come from the Watercolor Words stamp set.  I can't wait to really get into that stamp set.  The "celebrate" comes from the And Many More set.  I finished it off with some Real Red cotton ribbon and some rhinestones.  Super easy right?  I love when I am able to make a card and it comes together so quickly.  Thanks so much for looking.  Check out everyone else's creations over at SSI!  

It Can Be So Easy!

I love the idea of a quick and easy card but because I love to embellish and layer and stamp a lot, I tend to be bad a creating them.  But today I have a good single layer note card with an awesome color combo.  Here it is:

First of all, I should say that I am using the Notecards here.  And I am super proud that I remembered to stamp the envelope!  I used two stamp sets, Traveler and You've Got This.  I think that background from You've Got This will be used for a lot of things.  The colors are Night of Navy, Tip Top Taupe and Crushed Curry.  I finished it off with some candy dots and a little bit of twine.  Super easy and probably designed and created in under 5 minutes.  Although I think the idea had been swimming around in my head for awhile!

Lovely Lace

So I just LOVE lace, it's so pretty and girlie and reminds me of all the pretty dresses my mother out me in growing up!  So when Stampin' Up! put out new lace I was all over it!  And they put it out in the fabulous new in colors!  I have two cards to share with you, both using the Mint Macaron lace.  

In this first card I used it on the border along with the Definitely Dahlia stamp.  The sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  This was a quick card  to make.  That gorgeous flower and pretty lace work so well together.  I added a few rhinestones for some bling!  

For my second card I used the You've Got This stamp set and just added a touch of lace underneath the chevron ribbon.  Sometimes you just need a little something.  This was one of my cards at my open house.

Over the Rainbow

Today at SSI, we are talking about some of our favorite new catalog items.  I thought I would share one of my very first MUST HAVES when I saw the catalog.  I feel in love with this stamp set:

It doesn't seem like much but I knew it had possibilities!  I loved the water color streaks and splotches.  That sun is just oh so cute!  And even though it was my MUST HAVE stamp set, I just got around to creating with it.  I just have one card to share, but honestly, it's pretty cute AND super easy.

It's a single layer card using Whisper White along with Memento Black ink and the Brights family collection for that ROYGBIV.  Although I opted for Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and then Pacific Point.  Next time I will try Tempting Turquoise in the mix.  I added the sun and layered a cloud from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  I love how the splotches fill up the letters.  I will be using this set again, stay tuned!  Thanks for looking.  Did you get a chance to see the other New Catalog Items from the gals at SSI?  

    

Patriot Pride

July 4th is special for a lot of reasons to me.  I have always been partial to the holiday, I love the fireworks, the american pride, the BBQ's, etc.  In fact I love it so much, it is also my wedding anniversary.  My husband and I are coming up on 11 years.  That seems both so long ago and just like yesterday at the same time.  Anyways, I love creating for this holiday and today I have a very special home decor piece I created using a printer's tray I got on clearance!  Love when that happens, right?

My color palette is Real Red, Night of Navy, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White and touches of silver.  For the first three panels, I used the masks and stamped the Layered Letters on a Deco Label die cut.

Here I made a little banner using the Banner Banter stamp and punch.  I added a little bit of the silver glimmer paper.  

I made a little Uncle Sam punch art using the scallop circle, circle, word window and star punch.  This was so easy and could easily be added to a card.

This flag was made with the Work of Art stamp set and the star confetti punch.  Also super easy and could easily be used on a card.

I kept this one simple, a little of the Tip Top Taupe lace and the word America stamped with the letters from the Calling All Heroes stamp set.

For this panels, I just added some star die cuts to the real red background.  

The sentiment is from the Project Life stamp set Remember This and I embossed it with Silver embossing powder on the Night of Navy card stock.  

Here I embossed the Tip Top Taupe with the Lucky Stars embossing folders and added some Petite Petals stamped in Real Red and Night of Navy.

I really like how this panel turned out.  The firework image is actually from Summer Silhouettes.  I added some Red Dazzling Details and the Boom Boom comes from the Groovy Love set.    

Here I just wrapped some of the Night of Navy seam binding ribbon and added a silver glimmer paper sweetheart punch.

Build a Birthday

This was one of the first stamp sets we could get as a demo during our preorder.  I got it because I saw there were lots of possibilities with the set.  I have a few cards to share where I paired this set with the Bohemian DSP.  I just love the rich colors in this paper!

First up is a look at the card I had at my open house.  I just used the sentiment and the candle flame part of the set for a quick and easy card.  The candles were made from the Bohemian DSP.  You could also stamp the candles from the set.

Up next is the cake.  This was SO easy to make.  In fact, confession time, I ran downstairs and stamped the following two cards so quickly that my family didn't even know I was missing.  With the photopolymer stamps, its so easy to line up and they stamp perfectly (hint be sure to stamp on the piercing mat for a perfect image everytime).  I added a bit of the Bohemian DSP in the corner.

And finally I wanted to think outside the box.  So using all the same colors from the previous cards, I created a faux washi tape pattern.  I stamped the sentiment several times in different colors.  Again with the photopolymer, this was so easy to line up.  This was my first try!  I might have to do this again with a rainbow color scheme.
