June Card Sketch

It's that time again, we have another fabulous sketch for you!  And hopefully you have some of the fabulous new Stampin' Up! goodies to help inspire you even more!  Here is the sketch:  

Super fun right?  Here is my take on it:

I used the colors from the Bohemian DSP to determine my color scheme.  The card base is Blackberry Bliss and there is one piece of Bohemian DSP.  I then took some ivory and using the Bohemian Borders stamp set, I made my own DSP with Blackberry Bliss, Delightful Dijon and Bermuda Bay.  The sentiment comes from the Friendly Wishes stamp set and I layered that on top of some Delightful Dijon cut with the Chalk Talk Framelits.  My little banner is actually made with the Bohemian Washi Tape.

Triple Banner Punch

One of the fabulous new products from Stampin' Up! is the Triple Banner Punch.  Banner are so in right now!  And we all had ways to make ours but they weren't always foolproof.  I used to cut a triangle off with the square punch.  I have seen others use the hexagon punch.  And these methods work but require a little bit of estimation and one slip and it could be off.  

Enter the Triple Banner Punch.  Now we can create little banners 1", 1.5" and 2" wide in a snap!  Here is a card I made using this cool new tool!

My little banner feature the punch as well as the Cherry on Top DSP stack.  The stamp set used here is the You're So Sweet.  I also embossed the Bermuda Bay background with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  I added a little bit of the Cherry on Top Washi Tape as well!

They Say It's Your Birthday...

Well it's not my birthday yet, but we are celebrating birthday cards today at SSI!  And I have a fun one using a new stamp set, new DSP paper stack and two new in colors!  Check it out:

I just love the Build a Birthday set!  I can't wait to play with it even more to see what else I can make!  The background DSP is from the Cherry on Top 6 x 6 Paper Stack.  It was a perfect choice...the card is almost good enough to eat!  The colors are Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe.  And of course I had to make a matching envelope with the wonderful envelope paper.  It is thinner than card stock but more durable that DSP.  And of course it is double sided so no liner is needed!

New Catalog Countdown Day 1 - Cucumber Crush

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!  It's here!  The new catalog!!!!!  Today we are showing off the last of the fantastic  new in colors!  We have the bright and cheerful Cucumber Crush for you.  This is reminiscent of Gumball Green from a few years ago, but its brighter!  I just love it!  As you check out today's Inkspiration from my page, be sure to check out the rest of the projects by the SSInkspiration Design Team for today!

I decided to pair Cucumber Crush with Tangelo Twist.  The background paper is from the in color envelope paper pack,  I used the Crazy About You stamp set and the Hello You thinlits.  I finished it off with one of the faceted buttons.  Thanks for looking!   

  

Technique Tuesday - Pinwheel, pinwheel spinning around...

I can't help it, I am a child of the 80's and I can't say pinwheel without thinking of the 80's tv show on Nickelodeon.  Today at SSI we are talking about pinwheels...a perfect an easy addition to a fun, summery card.  And I have some super fun DSP to show off as well.  Here is my card:

I think this would be the perfect card for my daughter who will be completing 1st grade in about two weeks.  The pinwheels are made with the Cherry on Top DSP with some candy dots in the center.  I used the bow builder to make a Crushed Curry bow to tie up the fun pinwheels.  The sentiment is from And Many More and I am glad this set is n the new catalog!  Thanks for looking!  Check out all the other creations over at SSI using pinwheels!  

New Catalog Countdown Day 2 - Delightful Dijon

Two days away...can you feel the creative excitement in the air?  Another color to share today, and this one is going to be so lovely for fall projects and masculine cards.  It is called Delightful Dijon.  A bit deeper than Hello Honey, I can see this pairing nicely with Blackberry Bliss as well a Night of Navy.  As you check out today's Inkspiration from my page, be sure to check out the rest of the projects by the SSInkspiration Design Team for today!

Here is my card using this new gorgeous color:

I used the new Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set, Sprinkles of Life.  This color reminded me of the color of an ice cream cone.  I used some of the new Bohemian DSP as a background and stamped and colored the ice cream cone.  I then stamped and punch two scoops of ice cream.  I needed to add some sprinkles of course.  I finished off the card with some of the dotted lace ribbon in Delightful Dijon.  And of course I had to make a matching envelope!

June Color Challenge

Can you believe it is already June?  I am so excited because tomorrow is the launch of the new catalog.  Our color challenge uses one of the fabulous new in colors and pairs it with two other fabulous colors from the regal collection.  Check it out:

I decided to use this color scheme with a stamp set that is carrying over; Butterfly Basics!  Here is my card:

This was a super easy card that came together super fast!  I stamped the leaves several times without reinking to give several shades of Mint Macaron.  And I thought that Cajun Craze would be perfect for that butterfly and it was so east to cut it out with the matching framelit.  Having such fabulous coordinating products is one of my favorite things about Stampin' Up!  And of course I just finished it off with a bit of Night of Navy seam biding ribbon.
