Button, Button, Who's Got the Button

Stampin' Up! has some great embellishments.  One of those is buttons.  They come in all the color families as well in gold, silver, and even glass faceted buttons.  Today I have a cute way to use buttons with some of our great flower stamps.  Check it out:

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a whisper white layer.  I stamped on some Old Olive leaves and then added Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay stamped and punched with a scallop circle punch.  I added the coordinating buttons to the center of the flowers.  I finished the card off with a sentiment stamped in black.  All stamped images are from the Crazy About You stamp set.

Fluttering Embossing Folder

As much as I love all the products in the Holiday Catalog (I have almost all of them) I decided to take a break and play with some of the fabulous butterfly products from the Annual Catalog.  Here is a fun springy card featuring the Fluttering Embossing folder:

I embossed some Whisper White and them sponged the butterflies in Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron, and Blackberry Bliss.  I then added a butterfly cut from Blackberry Bliss and layered on a butterfly cut from vellum.  I layered some Tip Top Taupe Lace Ribbon on card stock of the same color.  That cute sentiment is from the Cottage Greeting stamp set.

Thanks so much for looking.  Be sure to check out the other projects using embossing folders over at SSI!

October Mystery Challenge

I love our Monthly Mystery Challenges over at SSI!  Donna always comes up with such great items.  Here is this month's:

Guess what?  I am going to go CRAZY and use all five!  Here is my project:

So I totally think I deserve bonus points because I also made it an easel card!  This was fun!  I used the Lighthearted Leaves and Vintage Leaves stamp sets along with the coordinating framelits.  I embossed the soft suede with the Woodgrain Embossing folder.  The sequins come from the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Accessory Pack.  Oh and that one leaf is totally cut from the burlap ribbon!  I think I am most proud of that!  The card base and the Thanksgiving sentiments are stamped in Island Indigo.  Check, check, check, check, and check!

So you don't have to go so crazy, pick any three of your favorite elements and upload your own creation over at SSI!

This was super easy with the Happy Haunting DSP

Follow Your Heart

When I saw the challenge over at Color Throwdown.  I had a few ideas right away.  But I finally settled on a romantic card because that is what I felt like the colors were saying to me.  Here is the color scheme:

First of all, where can I get those shoes?  Do I have to drop my house on a witch?  They are fabulous!  Anyways, here is my card using a few retired stamps:

I love the Eiffel Tower from this stamp set.  I started off by embossing it on Whisper White. Then I sponged on some Melon Mambo with a mask made from my Oval Framelits.  I added some confetti hearts from the Perpetual Calendar stamp set and some tiny rhinestones.  The sentiment in heart embossed in black on vellum.  I added some banners to the top in Real Red, Melon Mambo and some Black Glimmer paper.  I also added a heart from Red Glimmer paper on a tiny vellum circle.  Thanks so much for looking.

Grateful Heart

I love the Happy Scenes stamp set.  I was fortunate to get the Hearth and Home thinlits before they went on backorder, but I do think that the stamp set alone is quite lovely.  I ran across a few challenges that were perfect to use it for; a sketch challenge from Try Stampin' or not on Tuesdays and a color challenge from Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  Here they are:

Here is my card:

I used my Aqua Painters to color in the fall scene on some Shimmery White paper.  Initially I was just going to use different embossing folders on the background card stock pieces but then I was inspired to use the stamp set from the two most recent Paper Pumpkin sets.  I like how this turned out!  And I really love using my Aqua Painters.  Thanks for looking!

Joy

I love the Peaceful Pines bundles in the Holiday Catalog, although I have yet to really use it.  It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Check it out:

I decided to use the tree DSP from the Merry Moments pack as well as the Peaceful Pines Bundle.  Here is my card:

My color palette was Crumb Cake, Old Olive and that Red Foil paper.  I knew I wanted to use a word for the sentiment.  I was so excited when I remember to check out the Wondrous Wreath Thinlits.  I thought the Joy was a perfect choice.  The tree was stamped in Mossy Meadow and colored in with a blender pen.  I used the Stampin' Write Markers for the lights and added a dab of Dazzling Details to make then sparkle.

Thanks for checking out my card today!

A Little Angel

I love the Gift Bow Die because aside from bows, I can also make angels with it.  When Stampin' Up! came out with the Bow Builder Punch, I wondered if I could make a tiny angel.  Well you can, here is the card to prove it:

I used the Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP for the background and for the angel.  That paper is so beautiful and elegant.  I added the vellum for some wings and some gold glimmer paper for a halo.  I was going for a fancy card so the sentiment is embossed and I added some gold glitter ribbon.  I love how this turned out!

Be sure to check out the other projects using the Bow Builder Punch over at SSI!

Timeless Elegance

Stampin' Up! puts out the best DSP.  The patterns and the colors are all so fabulous.  Today I am sharing a card I made with the Timeless Elegance DSP.  It has a very romantic style with lots of lace and flowers.  I decided to combine it with the sketch from Try Stampin' Or Not On Tuesday.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I started off with a Sahara Sand card base and added a basic black layer.  The panels, butterflies and even the washi label are all cut from the DSP.  I embossed the Sahara Sand squares with the Elegant Dots folder.  The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the And Many More.  And finally I added some black sequins from the Metallic Sequin pack and some pearls to finish it off.

Thanks so much for looking.  Be sure to check out the other designers over at SSI who are also showcasing their favorite DSPs!

A Deer Little Card

You know how people usually dread Mondays?  Not me!  My son goes to preschool for an hour and a half and then comes home tired and naps for two hours.  That is 3.5 hours of Mommy time!  I spent the first part of it taking my time through the grocery store.  Once we got home and he got settled to nap after lunch, I got to business working on some cards and the other reason I love Mondays, a new Mojo Monday sketch!  Check it out:

Great sketch, right?  I decided to use some scraps I had laying around to start and I made this cute little Christmas Card:

I did a lot of embossing, it is probably one of may favorite techniques.  I liked the color combo here of Real Red, Early Espresso and Mossy Meadow.  I used the Happy Scenes stamp set and added some Dazzling Diamonds to the scene.  I used some Early Espresso Seam Binding Ribbon and the Gold Cording Trim to tie up the Gold Button.  Finally I finished it off with a Rudolph cut for the Home For Christmas DSP.

This card came together so easily thanks to a wonderful sketch!  Thanks for looking!

October Inkspiration Challenge

Happy Monday!  We are back with another one of our challenges this week.  Check out this photo and see how it inkspires you!

Umm...super yummy right?  I love those colors and let that be my inkspiration along with a fun Halloween theme.  Check out my card:

Aside from fussy cutting the potion bottles this was a pretty quick card to make.  And it gave me a perfect opportunity to use the white corrugated paper which adds some fun texture to the card.  And again, if you haven't gotten the silver and gold cording trim, you are missing out!

Check out a complete supply list below.  Now that you have seen my project, get your supplies out and make your own and upload it over at SSI!

A Clean and Simple Leaf Card

I love the stamp set Lighthearted Leaves.  Check it out:

And when I saw the challenges at The Paper Players and Stampin' Royalty, I thought I could use it to make a pretty fall themed card.  Here are both challenges:

And here is my card:

I began the card by stamping the leaves, then sponged them using a mask from the coordinating framelits.  I liked the idea of the leaves going from Pear Pizzazz, to Crushed Curry, to Pumpkin Pie.  I added this to a layer of Pear Pizzazz that was embossed with the Wood-grain folder onto a Pumpkin Pie card base.  I added the sentiment matted on some Crushed Curry and finished it off with some Pumpkin Pie cotton ribbon.

Thanks so much for checking out my project!

A Very Merry Card

When I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch, I had a good idea of what to do.  I decided to combine it with the color challenge over at Can You Case It.  Here are both challenges:

Here is my card:

I started out with a Sahara Sand card base and added an Early Espresso layer.  On the white layer I stamped some stars with Versa Mark and then embossed them with Iridescent Ice.  This is much easier to see in person.  Then I added 5 "merry's," in several shades of green; Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green and Mossy Meadow.  I then embossed the deer in Early Espresso embossing powder onto some vellum and used some circle framelits to cut the circle out.  I added some gold thread under the circle for a little extra shine.

Fun Colors and a Partial Easel Card

I had a little time to make a quick card for two challenges today.  The first is for Fab Friday and its a great color challenge.  The second is for Just Add Ink and they want us to do a Fancy Fold.

Those are some fun colors, right?  Here is my card:

I had recently bought the Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life Kit and planned my whole card around that pumpkin.  Its actually as wood card that I sponged with Tangelo Twist and layered on Basic Black card stock.  I made just part of the card an easel card.  I thought the ghost paper from the Happy Haunting DSP would go cute with the pumpkin.  I pulled out all the spooky stops with part of a spiderweb and a BOO cute from Bermuda Bay.  On the right side I made my own DSP with the spiders from A Little Something and used the Trick or Treat sentiment layered on Bermuda Bay.  I added some of the Bermuda Bay sequin trim for a little more pop of color.

Thanks so much for looking!  I think this card might go to my daughter's teacher.

A Cherry on Top Challenge 4

And my final card from today's nap and craft session uses the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary.  Here it is:

A saw those stripes and thought, WASHI TAPE!

I started with a Watermelon Wonder card base and added a Whisper White later.  The washi tape was super easy to add.  Confession, the ones on the top are there because of my inky fingerprints.  But every mistake is an opportunity for an embellishment!  And that stamp is from Friendly Wishes and I colored it with my Stampin' Write Markers.

This might be my favorite card I made today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Cherry on Top Challenge 3

I was able to get so much done with the Cherry on Top Suite.
Here is the sketch from Pals Paper Arts:

I decided to use the stamp set that I got from Convention that hasn't even seen ink yet!
Here is my card:

Although Your Presents is a stamp set found in the Holiday Catalog, you can use it to make birthday presents as well.  I started with a Cucumber Crush card bade and added a Pool Party layer and then that fun dotty patterned paper from the Cherry on Top DSP .  My present are stamped with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party and adorned with Crushed Curry "bows."  The sentiment is from the Happy Happenings stamp set and its stamped in Cucumber Crush with some Bermuda Bay bakers twine circled underneath.

This was a fun sketch to play with.  Thanks for checking it out!

A Cherry on Top Challenge 2

I used another great sketch today with the fabulous Cherry on Top Suite.  This time it's from Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Here is the sketch:

This is definitely a departure from my usual creations so I was happy to stretch my creative muscles.  Here is my card:

The DSP does most of the work here.  I started with a Watermelon Wonder card base and added a Whisper White background  The patterned paper is right from the stack in Watermelon Wonder and Crushed Curry.  The cupcakes and ice cream cone are cut from DSP in the paper stack as well.  The sentiment comes from the You're So Sweet stamp set and I stamped it in Cucumber Crush.

Thanks so much for checking out my card!

A Cherry on Top Challenge 1

Today I decided to work on a bunch of challenges while my son napped.  But I wanted all creation to be from the same suite.  I chose the Cherry on Top.  This DSP stack is so fun and bright and cheery!  And I love the matching washi tape.

Up first is the sketch challenge from Stamp Ink Paper along with the Friday Mash Up challenge which was a friendship card with a donut on it:

Here is my card:

I love the bright colors of this suite.  I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a Crushed Curry background that was embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  My donut was made from Tip Top Taupe and some DSP from the Cherry on Top stack.  I added some whisper white topped with some Cherry on Top washi tape.  The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life stamp set with some little donuts cut out from the DSP.  I added a heart paper clip made from the Project Life Clips thinlits and some Crushed Curry bakers twine.

Thanks so much for looking!

Butterflies and Bright Colors

I had been seeing a lot of fabulous card on Pinterest using all the butterfly stamps we have a Stampin' Up!  When I saw the sketch over at Paper Craft Crew Challenges and the color scheme at Color Throwdown, I decided to give my holiday products a break and bust out the botterflies!  Here are those challenges:

Here is my card:

I decided to bust out some retired colors; Lucky Limeade and Coastal Cabana, to work with Calypso Coral.  I used lots of butterfly products; the Fluttering embossing folder, Watercolor Wings and Butterfly Basics stamp sets and the Butterfly Framelits.  I love how fun and bright this is!  Thanks for looking!

Wild About Flowers

I fell in love with this stamp set when I used it at Convention.  And before I got it, I didn't have any good retirement sentiments.  Check it out:

It might not look like much, but you can stamp some really pretty flowers with it.  Since its photopolymer, it is super easy to line up.

Check out the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I had a feeling I could make a simple, elegant card using both the stamp set and sketch.  Here is my creation:

I love this.  It came together even better than I had hoped!  I used Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron for my color palette.  The strip of Blackberry Bliss is actually the washi tape from the Bohemian Suite.  I finished the card off with the metal rimmed pearls.

Thanks for looking!

Hope

I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch and I really wanted to play along.  Here it is:

I had tried a few different things and I wasn't really happy with where I was going.  And then I came up with a perfect idea:

The word Hope is embossed with some (retired) Blushing Bride embossing powder.  The hearts come from Pictogram Punches and Something to Say.  I really like how this turned out.  It is simple and pretty.  Thanks so much for looking!

Bicycle Stamp

I was looking for a fun sentiment for an idea I had so I decided to check my stash of Paper Pumpkin stamps.  One of the benefits of this awesome program is that you get to keep the stamps!  I came across the bicycle from one of the earlier kits.  And then I had a whole other idea.  I decided to use the color challenge from The Paper Players.  Here it is:

Here is my card:

I had started this challenge trying to do something for the holidays but I really like where I ended up.  This would be a great card for someone who does bike races!  I actually have someone in mind.  If you are wondering how I lined up the bicycle images, I used the awesome Stamp-a-ma-jig.  I forget about this tool all the time but I was glad I grabbed it.  The background is from Cherry on Top DSP stack.  The sentiment comes from Pictogram Punches, and this is a set that hasn't seen much ink, so I was happy to use it!  I finished the card off with some rhinestones on the wheels.  Thanks so much for looking!

A Little Love for my Retired Stamps

I love all the new and current fabulous Stampin' Up products.  But there are quite a few retired stamps, tools and accessories I have held onto because I just couldn't bare to let them go.  So I decided to use a few for two challenges; Just Add Ink's sketch challenge and Create with Connie and Mary's color challenge.  Here they both are:

Here is my card:

Aside from card stock and the lace, this is made with some of my favorite retired goodies.  I loved the Something Lacey background stamp from last year's Occasions Catalog.  The bit of taffeta Perfect Plum ribbon is pretty old but totally fit the bill!  I really like the Chalk Talk stamp set and am hoping that we get a new stamp set in the upcoming Occasions catalog to go with the framelits.  I also embossed (and inked) the Perfect Plum card stock piece with the Pretty Prints embossing folder.  This card would work for anything with the general sentiment, For You.  Thanks for looking!
