PPA 245

The final challenge I worked on today is from Pals Paper Arts.  They had a super cute sketch that I had to try.  Check it out:

I had the idea to make a cute baby boy card with Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding and Smoky Slate.
Here is my card:

This was super quick and easy.  I used the Irresistibly Yours DSP and sponged it with Pistachio Pudding.  I love the little heart button from the Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons.  I finished it off with some Soft Sky twine from the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine.  Thanks for looking!

Try Stampin' on Tuesday 212 and CCMC348

I double dipped here for two great challenges; Try Stampin' on Tuesday and Create with Connie and Mary.  One is a sketch challenge and the other is a color challenge so it was easy to combine the two.

And since today is the final day of Sale-A-Bration I am using some of the fabulous products I earned.  Here is my card:

The Sheer Perfection Vellum and the Irresistibly Yours DSP were hands down my favorite SAB products.  I love how easily this card came together and it is really quite simple.  I guess that I what happens when you have a fabulous sketch and great color combo!  Plus all the fantastic Stampin' Up! products!  Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday 391

I have decided to get my buns in gear and get back to the online challenges.  So I went to work in my craft room while my son took a nice long nap (extra cuddles with him later for being so cooperative).  Here is the sketch over at Mojo Monday:

Now that we are heading down to the final months before the end of the catalog, here is where I try to use up all my DSP to make room for more.  And with this sketch, well I can use a lot of DSP!  Here is my card:

I chose the Flower Pot DSP, which has such fun patterns and great colors.  Upon further review, this card is a little busy.  But I think the right person would love it!  I did make it tall and skinny, which was definitely something new to me, since I tend to stick with the traditional size cards.  But if I am trying to use up DSP, I could easily whip up a envelope with the Envelope Punch Board with the matching paper (believe it or not, there are still a few patterns that I didn't use in this card!).  Thanks for looking!

Stamp Set Focus: Just Saying

Just Sayin' is such a cute trendy stamp set and that is our focus over at SSI.  I have made a lot of cards using this set and the matching framelits.  Today I thought I would share a card I made reminiscent of the texting world we live in along with my favorite color; Blackberry Bliss.

I paired Blackberry Bliss with Rich Razzleberry and heat embossed the sentiments with white embossing powder.    I also used my Envelope Punch Board to round my corners.  Be sure to check out all the great creations over at SSI.

Petal Potpourri

I am a sucker for great flower stamp sets.  And if they come with a matching punch, forget about it.  I have to have it!  So of course I had to get this fabulous set in the Occasions catalog.  I have already made and shared a lot of creations with this set.  I thought I would try something a little different.  Here is a card using the emboss resist technique.

I love the lacy flower in this set and decided to focus on that, embossing it in white and then I sponged on Blackberry Bliss,Lost Lagoon and Old Olive.  I really like the tie-dye effect I created.  Did you see all the ideas for this great stamp set over at SSI?

3 - 2 - 1 Create!

Today we have a great way to springboard your creativity.  The challenge is to use 3 pieces of DSP (patterned paper), 2 punches and 1 stamp set.  Here is my card:

These little paper stacks are the best!  I love all the fabulous color combos and patterns.  This is the All Abloom stack in the Annual Catalog.  Be sure to check out all the other cards over at SSI!

Masculine Monday...I need a hero!

Today we are focusing on masculine cards.  These can be tough in a crafting world full of flowers, glitters, and ribbon.  I made a card for the man who still has a bit of boy in him.  Check it out:

Okay, I will admit it, I am also a huge superhero fan.  I am very excited for the newest Avengers movie coming out this spring.  When designing my card I had initially thought I would use a different stamp set but when I stumbled across Calling All Heroes, my plans quickly changed.  I decided to pair that with the Starburst Sayings set.  And then I came up with the idea to do a circle flip card and make Captain America's shield.  I am so thrilled with how this came out.  I might try to make the other Avengers as well, so keep checking back.  And of course as always, don't forget to look at all the other fabulous cards over at SSI.  Thanks for looking!

Easter Cards

Easter is definitely early this year and where I live, I am just hoping the snow is all gone!  It would make for a challenging egg hunt though, especially if we didn't dye the eggs.  We are spotlighting Easter Cards today at SSI.  There are several Easter stamps in the Occasions Catalog so we have lots of options.  Here is my card:

I chose to use the In Colors that will most likely be retiring this year.  I just love them...so soft and so pretty and perfect for Easter.  I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color in that stamp and then a blender pen to color the in the bunny.  It might be hard to see in the picture but I added some Dazzling Details on the bunny's belly and tail.  So fun!  Be sure to check out all the fabulous projects over at SSI!

Dictionary Stamp Set

Background stamps get a bum rap sometimes because they are in the background.  But sometimes those backgrounds can make all the difference.  Today we are focussing on the Dictionary Background stamp.  I chose to use it not as an entire background.  Here is my card:

I created a stencil from some scrap paper so I only stamped the dictionary in the circle.  I also used the Nature's Perfection stamp set, a new Sale-A-Bration offering.  It might be hard to see in the picture but the butterfly is stamped on vellum and then embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder then I added some color with markers.  The sentiment comes from the Moon Lake stamp set.  Thanks so much for looking.  Did you see all the other ways to use this awesome background stamp over at SSI?

Fancy Folds

I love making a card that is a little different.  I can't believe how many different folds there are to create a card.  I have tried a lot.  Today I am showcasing a partial easel card.  I learned this fold from Linda Bauwin.  And I created this card for my upline's birthday!

Here it is all popped up!

So fun and so easy!  Thanks for looking.  Be sure to check out all the fancy folds over at SSI!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello and a very Happy St. Patrick's Day to all those Irish folks out there!  Today we are featuring our favorite greens at SSI.  This was a hard choice for me.  I thought for sure I was going to pick Wild Wasabi since it was a color I hadn't ever used until recently until I remembered that Pistachio Pudding is an in color that will most likely be retiring soon.  So I decided to use that one!  Here is my card:

I had gotten that embossing folder awhile ago and had been waiting for a great opportunity to use it.  And I created that doily with the Doily Die I got when it landed on the weekly deals!  You have to be sure to keep checking those deals out...so many great products at a great price!  Thanks for looking.  Be sure to check out the other projects from the designers over at SSI.

March Layout Sketch Challenge

Boy do we have a great sketch challenge for you today over at SSI!  I just love using a sketch to jumpstart my creativity.  And this sketch definitely was a great springboard!  Check it out:

Super fun, right?  A great way to use up DSP and lots of white space if you like it.  Of course, I struggle with that so I filled that space with pictures of my sweet little boy at six months of age.

So cute, right?  I have to brag about my little boy, he is so adorable!  And making this layout, while a little time consuming was also super rewarding.  I loved filling each little space of DSP with something fun.  I used an awful lot of different supplies too.  Here is a close up of the title and little banner.

We can't wait to see what you can create with this great layout!  Taking time to create can sometimes be just what the soul needs...time to reflect on great memories and make something special to preserve those memories.  It is such a wonderful feeling when you are finished and have created something to be proud of!  Don't forget to upload your layout over at SSI!

Freshly Made Sketches 177

I haven't had time for many challenges recently but I got a peek at this week's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and I knew I had to give it a try!  Here is the sketch:

And I knew exactly what I wanted to use!  The new Sheer Perfection Vellum from Sale-A-Bration.  Here is my card:

Along with the vellum, I used the Nature's Perfection stamp set as well.  This is one of my card for my upcoming card buffet class.  If you are local to the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, contact me for more details about the classes I hold.  Thanks for looking!

Single Layer Cards

Today at SSI we are sharing our Single Layer Cards.  I signed up for this because it is something I struggle with.  My cards tend to have multiple layers and use lots of embellishments and techniques.  So I thought this would be good practice.  And of course, I struggled at first and then I remembered a very cool, very simple and very relaxing technique - zentangling!  Here is my card:

I was never a big doodler when I was younger (I was partial to MASH).  But when I first saw this technique, I knew I had to try it.  I love how easy it is and how forgiving...I made mistakes but because it's "doodly" it's no big deal.  Thanks for looking!  Be sure to check out other Single Layer Cards over at SSI

Finally here is a little sampler layout.  I have an easel display in my family room and I love creating something special for each season!

I had a lot of fun making this.  I just love these In Colors and it gave me a great excuse to use the In Color Accessory Pack, one of the additional free items offered for this final month of Sale-A-Bration.  I used the Lost Lagoon buttons in the center of the Lost Lagoon flowers.  I also wrapped some of the Tangelo Twist twine for the center of the Hello Honey flowers.

Envelope Punch Board

I love all that fabulous coordinating products that Stampin' Up! offers.  The inks, cardstock, Designer Series Paper, and embellishments all work together seamlessly.  And the matching stamps, punches, framelits and die all make creating something unique and from the heart so easy.

Today we are focussing on the Envelope Punch Board.  Or course this tool makes envelopes in a snap.  But I wanted to create something else.  I found this fabulous project from Anna Krol, a fellow Stampin' Up! demo from the UK.  Here is my take on it:

I used the Calypso Coral Pom Pom trim as a little pull tab.
Of course I had to make a matching card and envelope.

Thanks for looking.  Be sure to check out all the other Envelope Punch Board Creations over at SSI!

March Card Sketch for SSI

Happy Monday!  We have a fabulous card sketch for you from the team at SSI.  It could be a quick and easy card, and for me this was as close as I could get.  Here is the sketch first:

I decided to make a Congrats card for my best friend's parents because they will become grandparents for the first time in August.  I am so excited for them!  Here is my card:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch and even used the stars, mostly because I thought they would be cute for a baby themed card.  Thanks for looking!  Be sure to check out all the other cards and upload your creation at SSI!
