Owl Long Time Ago...

in a Galaxy far away.  I made a Star Wars card with the Owl Builder Punch!

I am not even sure how to begin to tell you my supplies.  I will say that the Owl Builder Punch can make anything.  I also used various specialty paper (Gold Foil, Silver Glimmer, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer, and Vellum for Darth Vader's eyes).  I did do a lot of fussy cutting for things like the hair and the buttons for R2-D2.  I made the card even more special by using the Lucky Stars Textured embossing folder.  And its also an easel card:

This is by far the easiest of fancy folds and its a great way to be sure that people can display your creativity.  How awesome is Yoda?  He might be my favorite, and he was the first character I made.  He also inspired my Yoda-Speak birthday greeting made with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set, which you gotta have!  You can make your card say ANYTHING!

Thanks so much for stopping by seeing a very special card I made for my best friend's son's first birthday.  His gifts from us were all space themed and I had initially wanted to do a rocket in space punch art card, but my son insisted on some Star Wars wrapping paper.  That is what inspired me to use my creative "force" and make this Star Wars card.  For more projects for kids, head over to SSI.

Masculine Monday with Some Pattern Fun

When I go shopping for clothes for my hubby, I always find myself so intrigued by all the different patterns in the tie section.  They get fun stripes, checks, paisleys, you name it.  So when we got the new Petals and Paisleys Suite, I immediately thought of those.  So I have a masculine card to share using these great brand spanking new products:

This would be a great card to give my father.  I love the striped paper and I made my own Delightful Dijon Paisley patterned paper with some tone on tone stamping.  I added a Night of Navy Paisley Die Cut which was super easy to cut with the Precision Base Plate and the Big Shot Die Brush.  I also used some of the stripe Mint Macaron ribbon for even more pattern and texture fun.

Thanks so much for looking at my card.  For more masculine card ideas, head over to SSI.

Time to Party

Are you ready to shake it?  Cards, I mean.  We are looking at shaker cards at SSI today and I have a relatively quick and easy one to share today:

I used a very Chanel looking color palette of Blushing Bride, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  Next time I do this, I will be sure to put more shakeables in my card, but I used some punched pieces and sequins.  Here is a close up of the shaker window:

With the Layering Square Dies, these cards are so easy to make.  Thanks for stopping by to see mine.  Head back to SSI for more shakin' fun!

Under the Weather

Every year Stampin' Up! puts out a special stamp set that raises money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities program.  This year's stamp set is awesome because it takes you through the year and coordinates with lots of other fabulous Stampin' Up! products.  Check it out:

So cute, right?  I chose to make a get well card with that awesome umbrella which of course has framelits.  Here they are:

I decided to bounce some ideas with my daughter for a color palette and she decided on Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate with hints of sparkle.  Here is my card:

The raindrops cut out extremely easily.  I had the umbrella just on the Pool Party background but realized it needed some patterned paper, so I grabbed the Neutrals Designer Series Stack and used that fabulous striped sheet.  Here is a peek at the inside:

I love how this stamp set gives you sentiments for the inside of your card as well.  I added a stripe of floral Smoky Slate paper, which is on the other side of the stripe.  Those paper stacks are awesome to have!

Below is my supply list.  To see other ideas with this great stamp, head back to SSI.

August Technique Challenge

We have another great technique challenge for you on this wonderful Monday.  Check it out:

Here is my attempt at this technique using some new products:

Check out those paisleys!  So fun, right?  Here I am using the Designer Series Paper that goes with this suite called Petals and Paisleys with such a wonderful color palette.  I love the soft Mint Macaron paired with the bright Rich Razzleberry and the rich Delightful Dijon.  I used the coordinating framelits to make my spotlight.  For a complete supply list, see below, although the new products aren't available until September 1st.

I can't wait to see what you can create with this technique.  Feel free to combine it with another challenge and upload your project over at SSI.

Lunchbox Notes

I always start the year with such good intentions.  I always say, I will make my daughter notes to tuck away in her lunch for her to find during the day.  This year I am going to do it, but I am going to make it easy on myself.  I am going to do it every Monday, because let's be serious, it's hard to go back to school on Monday, and a little note from Mom midday to let you know she is thinking of you would be awesome!  Plus we have a few Mondays off, so I will get a break.  I wanted to keep these notes small, but not too small.  And I decided if I wanted I could make envelopes with them using matching DSP or envelope paper and the Envelope Punch Board, but I don't even really have to do that.  So here are the first four little lunchbox cards I plan on sneaking into my daughter's lunch box:

These were so fun to make.  Here is a close up of each:

This is going to be the first one.  Because who doesn't need a reminder of how much Mom loves you?  And the first day of school is on a Monday, so it's perfect.  I used Crumb Cake and Sweet Sugarplum for this card along with the amazing Baby Bear stamp set.  I now have my go to Baby Card stamp set with this one.  The Three Step Stamping is super easy.  Here is a complete supply list, except the sequins are a preview of a new product in the Holiday Catalog, aren't they gorgeous?

I borrowed this bundle from my upline and thought it would make a fun, little card for my daughter, perfect to brighten her day just like she always brightens mine.  Of course I had to use bright colors here too!  Here is what I used to make this card:

No Bones About It is one of my favorite sets that I never use.  I just love it!  And just because its dinosaurs, doesn't mean my daughter won't love her little note.  I went with some In Colors here; Tip Top Taupe, Emerald Envy and Peekabo Peach.  And I heat embossed the bones in white.  So fun, right?

And finally here is a little fishy fun card.  I used the heck out of this paper making photo albums for my family but I took what I had left and made this little cute card.  I fussy cut the fish out and added some iridescent sequins from the new Tin of Tags Kit in the new Holiday Catalog.

Just For the Hosts

One of the best things about being a Stampin' Up customer is hosting a party.  You can earn Satmpin' Rewards to get anything you want from the catalog including your pick of the hostess exclusive stamp sets.  We are featuring these stamp sets today at SSI.  Here is a card I created using the Fabulous Flora stamp set.

I used all In Colors here; Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy and Tip Top Taupe.  Aside from the hostess stamp, this card also features some fabulous In Color accessories as well; the envelope paper, doilies and enamel shapes.  I used the Banner Duet punch for the sentiment and finished the card off with some linen thread, which has become my go to accessory recently.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  For more projects featuring Stampin' Up!'s hostess sets, head back over to SSI.

August Inkspiration Challenge

Not sure what it is like in your neck of the woods but we have lots of big beautiful butterflies all around us.  My daughter's class did raise butterflies this year so she likes to think its because of them.  And we all know that Stampin' Up! loves its butterflies.  So I found a perfect butterfly image for this month's Inkspiration Challenge:

Here is the card I created...I decided to try to recreate the photo.

This was fun to make.  I was really excited when I figured out how to do the butterfly.  I used both set of butterfly framelits but used Peekaboo Peach for the big one, and then some Pop of Pink DSP for the detailed outline.  I stamped my Dahlia in Real Red and added some Gold Wink of Stella Glitter pen.  The sentiment comes from Badges and Banners punched out with the Duet Banner punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Below you can find a complete supply list along with links to my store.  Be sure to check out the other projects INKspired by this fun summery image and then create your own and upload it over at SSI!

Thoughtful Branches Bundle

So if there weren't enough fabulous things in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog (and the amazing upcoming Holiday Catalog), an exclusive bundle was just released called Thoughtful Branches.  Check it out:

I thought the dies were cool but the sentiments were what really sold me.  There are so many of them and they cover so many occasions.  Here are a few cards I made with this bundle:

Here is a sneak peak at some specialty Designer Series Paper that will be in the Holiday Catalog.  Yes those are copper dots.  I stamped the leaves, trunk and single leaf in Versa Mark and heat embossing it with the Copper Embossing Powder.

Here is a quick and easy card with just the trees, no dies.

And this one is my favorite.  I have seen a lot of cards like this floating around on Pinterest, but I wanted to try my hand at my own.  I love this color combo, the Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crush pop against the bold Black and White stripe.

What a versatile bundle, right?  Head over to SSI for more INKspiration using this amazing group of products!

    August Card Sketch Challenge

I love a good card sketch!  And Diana has made a great one for us this week at SSI.  Check it out:

I was so excited to use the Festive Birthday DSP for this challenge along with the Birthday Fiesta stamp set.  I love the fun colors and patterns of this suite!  Here is my card:

How fun is this paper, right?  I fussy cute the pinata and gave him a sweet sombrero!  I also used the Festive Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This sketch is a great way to show off all the fabulous DSP you have!

    A Punchy Peach

Today over at SSI we are featuring punch art.  Now I have yet to get my hands on the Fox punch, so I decided to get creative and use what I have to make something different.  Pretty much the definition of punch art.  Here is my card:

I used a lot of elements in this stamp set but I feel like I should give you my punch recipe first.

For my peach, I trimmed the balloons up and sponged around them in Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango and then layered the smaller one on top with a dimensional.  For the stem I just folded the two pronged piece it in half and sponged it in Pear Pizzazz.  This is one fruity card with the color names!

For the rest of the card I finally used the Labeler Alphabet stamp set...LOVE this!  I can't wait to make custom sentiments for my closest friends!  The DSP is from the Fruit Stand paper.  I added some copper metallic thread between the DSP and the peach.  I needed something else under my sentiment, so I grabbed Touches of Texture for.  I finished my peach off with some linen thread and a hint of glitter with the wink of stella clear glitter pen.

Thanks so much for looking.  For more punch art cards, head back to SSI.

    Sympathy Cards

Sympathy cards are the kinds that I hate to have to make but unfortunately I always need.  Here is one I created using the You've Got This stamp set along with some of my favorite In Colors.

I stamped the flower on some Shimmery White paper and water colored it using Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron.  I added some Gold Wink of Stella in the middle of the flower as well.  I fussy cut the flower and layered it on one of the new doilies.  I did some background stamping and added a few banners and some extra enamel dots and pearls.

Thanks so much for looking.  Head over to SSI for more Sympathy cards.

    August Color Challenge

Hello there!  Are you just loving the new 2016-2018 In Colors from Stampin' Up!?  I love finding new color combos with these fabulous hues.  And this month's color challenge at SSI happens to use one of them with some of our core colors.  Check it out:

Since losing Blackberry Bliss, I am sure I will be reaching for Rich Razzleberry a lot more now.  I had an intial idea with these colors using the Botanical Blooms stamps, but I ended up going a different direction.  Here is my card:

I have to give credit to Tobe for showing off the In-Color Envelope Paper, which is the Peekaboo Peach background paper.  I am so glad she did because I just love it now!  I decided to pair the Moroccan Nights stamp set with Thankful Thoughts.  If you are wondering how I made that scallopped Pear Pizzazz layer, I just used the 3/4" circle punch.  I added a gold metallic enamel star inside my lantern.  Here is a peak at the inside:

I like the idea of stamping more than just the sentiment in the inside.  For the large medallion, I stamped off in Pear Pizzazz first for a light shade.  And I added some Peekaboo Peach washi tape from the Playful Palette Washi Tape.  My goal this year is to use up all my washi tape!  :)

Thanks so much for checking out my card!  Head over to SSI and upload your project using these three fabulous colors!
