Nailed It

I have been trying to pace myself with ordering all the amazing goodies from the Occasions Catalog.  Especially since I have been short on time recently, it is hard to find the time to use all the amazing products.  But what is great about Stampin' Up's perfectly coordinated stamps and accessories is that it doesn't take a long time to create with them.  Stampin' Up! takes all the guess work out of matching colors and fussy cutting things out.  I created this masculine card using the Urban Underground DSP along with the Nailed It bundle:

I decided to create a Father's Day card because this set really is perfect for my dad who amazes me with his wood working abilities.  I started off with a Basic Gray card base and took a piece of the Urban Underground DSP and embossed it with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The picture here does not do it justice...the background literally pops off the base.  I took a skinny piece of the Delightful Dijon and cut and embossed it with the ruler die from the Build It Framelit dies.  I layered on some more of the DSP, those triangles looked pretty cool to me.  I then stamped some of the tools from the Nailed It stamp set on to some Delightful Dijon with the same color ink.  I stamped the sentiment with some Delightful Dijon, die cut it with the Build It Framelit Dies and then sponged around the edges.

With the perfect sentiments and great colors  these supplies take all the guess work out of making masculine card.  Thanks so much for stopping by today,  For more masculine card, head over to SSI where that is what we are featuring today!

April Color Challenge

It is the first Monday of the month so we have our Color Challenge for you over at SSI.  Check it out:

I wanted to make a masculine card because I always need those.  And I had just gotten some new goodies, so I couldn't wait to use them as well!  Here is my take on this color combo:

I just order the starburst die and was so happy at how easy it was to use.  I can't wait to play more with it.  I kept this card pretty simple.  There is a Marina Mist card base with a Crushed Curry burst that is mounted onto some Whisper White.  I stamped the swirly lines on, but if they weren't close enough I just added some extra swirl with a Stampin' Write Marker.  I stamped the world onto some Marina Mist card stock with some Pear Pizzazz ink.  I layered that onto a Pear Pizzazz scalloped circle.  I added some of the burlap ribbon for some extra manly texture under the sentiment.

Thanks for looking!  Let's see what you can do with this color combo.  Head over to SSI and upload your project!

World's Best Dad

It is never too soon to start working on Father's Day cards.  Or cards for your father's birthday.  I saw the sketch over at Mojo Monday and decided to take a more masculine spin on it to go with the challenge over at Stampin' Royalty which was a project created for a guy.  Here is that sketch:

And here is my manly take on it:

Going Global is my favorite masculine stamp set by far!  And the Going Places DSP stack works so well with it.  I started off with a Delightful Dijon card base and layered on two DSPs from the Going Places stack.  I stamped the world in Basic Black onto some Sahara Sand card stock and layered it on a Delightful Dijon scalloped circle.  I added a compass to the top stamped with Delightful Dijon onto Very Vanilla.  I made a little banner with the sentiment and layered with more Delightful Dijon card stock.  Finally I added a gold star cut using the Stars Framelits.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Father's Day

I hope you remembered Father's Day this weekend?  If not, the designers over at SSI have some "inkspiration" for you.  I have a quick and easy card I made for my father in law using the Guy Greetings stamp set.

I actually started off with a different color palette.  But I ended up back here with my favorite masculine colors, Night of Navy, Mint Macaron and Top Top Taupe.  I used the streak from Work of Art for the ground and finished it off with some twine.

Here is the inside:

Thanks so much for looking!

Masculine Blog Hop

It's raining men...or atleast projects designed for men here at SSI.  Our monthly blog hop is dedicated to the men in our lives and with Father's Day approaching, this is just perfect.  I have a couple of projects to share with you today!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 3 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Melissa at Stamp Doc. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

First up is a Father's Day card using the Traveler Stamp set along with the World Map background stamp.

I used Night of Navy, Mint Macaron and Basic Gray.  The Happy Father's Day sentiment is from the Guy Greetings stamp set.  I love the look of the circle with part of it cut off.  I finished it off with some baker's twine.

Next up we have a Congrats card perfect for the hipster guy in your life.

Here is used the Guy Greetings stamp set.  This card is very different from my style, I usually have a hard time with white space (or in this case Very Vanilla space), but I liked it and knew I was done.  The colors are Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand, and Very Vanilla.  The Sahara Sand bottom piece is embossed with the new Brick Wall embossing folder. The hats are all punched out with the 3/4" circle and layered on the 7/8" scallop circle.

Finally we can't forget the little men in our lives.  This next card uses one of my favorite stamp sets from the new catalog; No Bones About It.

First, the colors are Tangelo Twist, Sahara Sand and Island Indigo, with a bit of Mossy Meadow and Chocolate Chip.  The ground is made from the streak in the Work of Art set.  I just love this set so much and I can't wait to play with it some more!  This would be a cute card for a little boy finishing Preschool or Kindergarten.

Thanks so much for checking out my projects.  Up next is Bree at Craft-Somnia Momma.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for us!

CCMC333

I was on a roll today with challenges.  My last one us from Create with Connie and Mary.  Here is the sketch we were given.

I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to play with from my pre-order.  Here is my take on it.

Unfortunately this stamp set won't show in my supplies list, it's called Guy Greetings and it is full of awesome pictures and sentiments like the one above.  I already have my dad's birthday card!
