Rockabye Baby

Today I have a sweet little baby boy card for you using the Little Cuties stamp set along with the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP.

I am still trying to master watercoloring, but for how quickly this card was created, I am pretty happy with it.  I thought the fun patterns in this DSP would be a perfect match to the rocking horse on this cute stamp set.  It won't be around forever, it is retiring, so you better get it soon!  The DSP is also retiring and it's on sale and it is perfect for carnival crafting this summer.  After watercoloring the horse I added some clear Wink of Stella Glitter.  I finished the card off with some ribbon and enamel shapes.  For a complete supply list, check out below.  For more cute baby cards, head over to SSI.

Welcome Baby!

Surprise!  Today we are showcasing projects made especially for our Design Team Member Tobe as she just had a little baby boy!  Congratulations Tobe!  Here is a sweet little Baby Boy card that will be making its way to you soon along with a little gift for your littlest boy:

I decided to go with a Dapper Denim and Soft Sky color scheme with Whisper White and a hint of Silver.  I used two stamp sets, the Something For Baby set (along with the Baby's First Framelits) and the Baby Bear set for the sentiment.  I embossed the Soft Sky background with the Happy Hearts Embossing Folder.  I also used the Layering Oval Framelits to create a frame for the cute little onesie I cut from the Dapper Denim envelope paper, which is something Tobe introduced me to, and now I am hooked!  I heat embossed my sentiment with silver embossing powder on some vellum and added some Dapper Denim enamel hearts.  Here is a peek inside:

I matted some Soft Sky onto some more envelope paper and stamped some cute baby items along with the sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp set.  I also did make a matching envelope with that fabulous envelope paper:

Thanks so much for checking out my special card for Tobe and her little man.  We have a few more baby projects for you to check out over at SSI!

For Baby

With all the stamps, paper and ink I have, I don't just make cards.  I can make so much more than that.  Today I am sharing a gift card holder that goes with a this gift and card from a few weeks ago (and if I get my act together, I might just get it out in the mail soon!).  Check it out:

I kept with the same color scheme of Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate and I added some gold accents as well.  The BYOP stamp and gift card holder framelits will be in the next catalog but that great bundle price won't be.  So if you want to save 15% this is a great product to get now!  That Chevron Embossing Folder is retiring, so if you don't have that yet, you better grab it soon before it's gone!  Here is a peek at the back:

I love the cute little baby-centered sentiment.  This gift card holder was so easy to make.  If you are worried that giving a gift card for a gift is a little impersonal, you can make a perfectly personal holder.  That special someone can get exactly what they want with the gift card and you can create a unique gift card enclosure with favorite colors or subject!  Head over to SSI for more Gift Card Holder ideas.

Kim loves to do Project Life, so I decided to make her some Project Life cards with all the awesome baby themed products they have released over the past few years.  Full disclosure some of these items are no longer available.  But they were too cute not to use!  Here are the cards I made for her:

I decided to do some light background stamping on some journal cards.

So I had to make a cute baby card too and I was inspired by one of my own creations.  Here is the card:

Here is a peek at the inside:

And a special card like this deserves a special envelope:

Bonjour Beautiful

I decided to mix old and new products for a sweet little girl card I made for SSI where we are talking about babies!  Check it out:

I just love the soft pretty colors of the Birthday Bouquet DSP, they seem so girlie to me.  So I thought they would make cute little onesies!  It had been awhile since I used the Baby's First Framelits Dies.  I only used the onesie and hanger but this set is essential for scrapbooking for a new baby.  Even if you are using Project Life, you can create cute die cuts to coordinate with the card kit you have.  I used the large Polka Dot embossing folder for some texture on the Whisper White background.  I love the baby sentiments from the stamp set Happy Happenings...Bonjour Beautiful and Hello Handsome are both so cute!  The pop of Watermelon Wonder is actually the 2015-2017 In Color  Designer Series Washi Tape, which is a hostess reward from the Occasions Catalog.  I finished the card off with some Blushing Bride Sequin Trim and a part of a Tea Lace Doily.

Thanks so much for looking.  Below is a complete shopping list.  Head back over to SSI for more Baby Inkspired creations!

Hello Little Sunshine

Happy Friday!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I am featuring a quick and easy, one layer card with a fun sunshiny theme.  I saw that over at Stampin' Royalty they were featuring one layer cards and this is something I tend to struggle with.  I can't help it, I love layers and I have more paper than I will ever use!  So it is good to try to KISS...Keep It Simple Stampin'!  Here is my card:

So I am not sure if I am cheating using the Washi Tape and the button, but it needed something else!  Ha ha ha.  I try to KISS, honestly I do!  Check out a supply list below.  For more Sunny and Bright cards, check out the other projects over at SSI!

October Card Sketch

Happy Monday to you!  We have a fabulous card sketch for you today over at SSI.  Check it out:

I had recently gotten the Zoo Babies stamp set so I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do.  Here is my card:

I love the color combo here of Blushing Bride, Basic Black and Whisper White.  It would be perfect for a Baby Girl card!  I knew the Go Wild DSP would be a perfect background for the giraffe.  I used several framelits and punches in this card...I love having so many shapes and possibilities!  You can find a complete supply list below.  Now its your turn to head over to SSI and make your own project inkspired by this awesome sketch!

September Color Challenge

Happy Monday and welcome to this month's color challenge.  We have a great trio of colors for you to focus on, perfect for cards, layouts, or 3-D projects in any theme you would like!  Here are your colors:

I actually needed to make a baby themed card for my mother.  We were out shopping together and she asked me to take her to a card store.  Of course I was flabbergasted and refused!  I knew I could make her a super cute card that would be extra special.  Here it is:

I love the Something for Baby bundle....it is perfect for baby themed cards.  And the extra little ribbon and washi tape were the perfect touch!  Side note, if you don't have the 1/4 inch cotton, ribbon you should totally get some.  We have them in lots of colors bound to match any project you have in mind!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to upload your creation over at SSI.

Quick and Easy Welcome Baby Card

So I have quite the stash of tools, paper, stamps and accessories.  This means I struggle with simplicity.  I love layers and lots of extras on my projects.  But sometimes you don't need much for a cute card.  Here I created two cute cards, one for the arrival of a baby girl and the other for a baby boy.  One of my very good friends is expecting her first child and since they wanted to be surprised, I had to be prepared for both outcomes!

I used the Something For Baby stamp set along with Happy Happenings and the Baby's First Framelits.  I love how these turned out!  Here is a close up of each:

I stamped the onesie and the sentiment in Marina Mist.  I sponged Soft Sky over the sentiment using a mask I made with the Label Bracket punch. And the hanger was stamped in Tip Top Taupe, which is quickly becoming a go to color for me.  Sorry Crumb Cake.

Here is the little girl one.  I used Rose Red and Pink Pirouette.

So there are two very simple, very cute cards.  Did you get a chance to check out the other creations over at SSI?

It's So Hard to Say Goodbye #4

I am back with my last tribute to the retiring goodies.  I got a chance to create a very special card for a very good friend who just found out she was having a little girl.  She has two boys and I think had prepared herself for having another boy.  She was just beside herself to find out it was a little girl.  I am happy for her because I know first hand how wonderful it is to have a little girl.  My daughter is such a special part of my life!  Here is the card I made for her:

There are several retiring goodies I used in this card.  The stamp set is called Baby We've Grown and I just love those cute little shoes!  I actually embossed this with the Blushing Bride embossing powder.  I am sad to see all the colored embossing powder retiring.  The patterned paper is from the All Abloom DSP stack.  I also used the Blushing Bride Chevron ribbon and finished it off with a cute heart button from the Sweet Dreams designer series buttons.  Thanks for looking!  Hopefully you have already got all of your favorite retired goodies.  Did you see everyone else's favorites from the design team over at SSI?

PPA 245

The final challenge I worked on today is from Pals Paper Arts.  They had a super cute sketch that I had to try.  Check it out:

I had the idea to make a cute baby boy card with Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding and Smoky Slate.
Here is my card:

This was super quick and easy.  I used the Irresistibly Yours DSP and sponged it with Pistachio Pudding.  I love the little heart button from the Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons.  I finished it off with some Soft Sky twine from the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine.  Thanks for looking!

March Layout Sketch Challenge

Boy do we have a great sketch challenge for you today over at SSI!  I just love using a sketch to jumpstart my creativity.  And this sketch definitely was a great springboard!  Check it out:

Super fun, right?  A great way to use up DSP and lots of white space if you like it.  Of course, I struggle with that so I filled that space with pictures of my sweet little boy at six months of age.

So cute, right?  I have to brag about my little boy, he is so adorable!  And making this layout, while a little time consuming was also super rewarding.  I loved filling each little space of DSP with something fun.  I used an awful lot of different supplies too.  Here is a close up of the title and little banner.

We can't wait to see what you can create with this great layout!  Taking time to create can sometimes be just what the soul needs...time to reflect on great memories and make something special to preserve those memories.  It is such a wonderful feeling when you are finished and have created something to be proud of!  Don't forget to upload your layout over at SSI!

March Card Sketch for SSI

Happy Monday!  We have a fabulous card sketch for you from the team at SSI.  It could be a quick and easy card, and for me this was as close as I could get.  Here is the sketch first:

I decided to make a Congrats card for my best friend's parents because they will become grandparents for the first time in August.  I am so excited for them!  Here is my card:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch and even used the stars, mostly because I thought they would be cute for a baby themed card.  Thanks for looking!  Be sure to check out all the other cards and upload your creation at SSI!

Friday Favorites - This and That Books

I love This and That Books from Stampin' Up!  I have made quite a few of them.  Last year I made one with a list of goals and a place to record my results.  I called it Forty before 40.  And I have made a pretty good dent in that list (I still have a few years left).  I also made a book to jot down all things creative; blog post ideas, wish lists, card class ideas, etc.  But today I am sharing an extra special one.  It is a maternity book I made for my very best friend who will be welcoming her first child in August.  I had to keep this project under wraps until her exciting news was made public and since it has been, I am excited to share this.  Here is the cover:

This and That books come in three different types.  I chose the Documented one because I felt my friend would like it the most.  It also coordinated well with the new baby DSP, Sweet Dreams.  I divided the book into sections with various subjects for her to jot down plans, idea and special memories.  The best things about these books is that the inside pages are already decorated with great DSP.  I decided to use the File Tabs to create dividers in coordinating card stock.  Here is a look at each section:

This was probably my favorite page...I got the idea for the little swaddled baby from a card made by Stampin'Up!'s founder, Shellie Gardner.

The Baby's First stamp and framelits were perfect for this section!

I love the idea of using the "Hello my name is ______" stamp from Starburst Sayings for a new baby page.  I did that for my son's album!

And finally we needed a section for the special memories or maybe funny pregnancy stories.  I know there was a lot of that for me!

I was also sure to include the matching stickers and washi tape for my friend to add as she fills this book.  Although I used it to make a maternity book, with all the different stamps and embellishments available, you could make a book for any occasion!  Thanks for looking!  Be sure to check out the favorites of the other SSI designers!

Baby Cards

Having a toddler, I love all the new baby themed products in the new catalog.  And I feel like I always know someone having another baby, so its great to have some Baby Cards handy.  Here is one I made with the fabulous new set Little Sunshine.

Here is a close up of the ribbon detail and the little star clip.  So fun!

I got this stamp set because I saw other uses for it as well.  Check out some more great cards over at SSI!

Today over at SSInkspiration we are focussing on Valentine's Day Card.  I thought I would share a card I made using a stamp set that has lots of different sentiments.  Here is my card:

I used Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Smoky Slate and Whisper White for my colors.  Here are some other creations with the same stamp set, One Tag Fits All:

Wow Wednesdays - Project Life

This past weekend I was fortunate to have the opportunity to go to a weekend long crop with some fantastic ladies.  My goal was to start my son's album.  I printed out 190 pictures from his first year and brought along the Little Moments Project Life collection along with an album and lots of pages.  Here are the first five pages.

I was able to get the basic pages layouts for the whole year.  I still need to add some embellishments and journaling.  I was so thrilled with how much I got done.  The goal is to finish before Thanksgiving and I think that with the simplicity of Project Life, that is totally doable!
