Cheerful Tags

I love the fabulous Here's to Cheers bundle in the Holiday Catalog but I haven't had much time to play with it.  I will definitely be playing with this more.  But I had time to make a quick and easy wine tag.  

I actually created this with mostly scraps.  I started with some Real Red and cut the tag out.  The dies made it super easy.  I cut the swirly background with some Silver Glimmer paper using the great set of dies.  I stamped the sentiment on some scraps of whisper white and punched out using a  circle punch.  I covered the back with some adhesive and made a fun border out of some Emerald Envy ribbon.  I used some silver glitter ribbon to finish the tag off.  

Now some of these items are retiring so you better get them while the getting is good.  Those items are the Glitter Ribbon (comes in a pack of two with silver and Sweet Sugarplum glitter ribbon) and the Silky Taffeta Ribbon combo pack (Emerald Envy and Cherry Cobbler).  The stamp set and dies are carrying over but the bundle price is not so better save now or you might regret it!

Hang Your Stocking Tags

I love it when I can get a great deal on products that I already love enough to pay full price.  This happened with the Hang Your Stocking bundle.  I actually didn't buy it as a bundle.  I got the stamp set when it was 25% off with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  And I grabbed the Stocking Framelits when they were on the Online Extravaganza.  Check out the bundle:

As CASE-worthy as that project is in the picture there, I decided to make some quick tags:

I layered some of them with the Stitched Shapes dies, and others I just put right on the tag.  I used Garden Green for the tag bases with some Cherry Cobbler Silky Taffeta ribbon.  Here are some close ups of each one:

I just cut some DSP from the Warmth and Cheer stack  for this stocking and used a Crumb Cake stitched oval.

Here I used the patterned stamp and trimmed the stocking with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  

Hard to see but this one is embossed with the Real Red Embossing Glitter.  Since the stocking was already sparkly I just trimmed with with some Whisper White.

Here I used the stocking die with the snowflake cut out (and used that snowflake for the first stocking) and layered it on a Whisper White stitched oval.

I really loved playing with this bundle but didn't have a lot of time so I thought making some tags would be perfect.  For more great tag ideas, head over to SSI!

  

Tin of Tags Kit

Last year Stampin' Up! put out a fabulous tag kit.  And this year, they managed to top it with the Tin of Tags Project Kit.  These tags are quick and easy to make along with being super cute!  Here is a look at the kit:

So along with the supplies to make 30 (3 of 10 different designs) you get an adorable tin to store them.  And with the kit you get everything you need except the stamp set, ink, and adhesive.  Here is a look at the stamp set which is super cute and has uses well beyond the tag kit:

This kit did not take too long to make, probably about an hour.  There are two things I would mention.  No where in the directions does it tell you to stamp the "TO:" and "FROM:" on the back of the tags before you embellish the front.  I am thrilled to say that I actually remembered to do this.  I also ended up all the baker's twine they gave and dipped into my stash.  I made the tag strings a little longer then they suggested though.  Here is some pictures of the completed kit:

The die cut tags are already treated with a pretty water color wash.

I love the tassels and wooden die cuts.

So fun, right?  I am definitely planning on offering this as a class and can't wait to show it off to everyone!  Below is a complete supply list.  

New In Color Bookmark

It's here, it's here!  Stampin' Up's New Annual Catalog is live!  Try not to break the internet with all the fabulous new products you can buy.  Today I am sharing a bookmark I made for customers coming to my New Catalog Launch Party:

So the new In Colors are fabulous.  In the bookmark, the ribbon and the sentiment are Flirty Flamingo.  I will be using this color with a very appropriate stamp set later.  The lace detail on the top and bottom is Dapper Denim, a perfect dark blue.  I stamped the butterfly in Sweet Sugarplum.  That might be my favorite.  The flowers are stamped on Peekaboo Peach with the same color ink.  What a fun shade of orange, right?  And the leaves are stamped and then colored with a blender pen in Emerald Envy,  Ok, maybe that one is my favorite.

Dressing Up a Gift Bag

Over at SSI we are looking at our A, B, C's...Anything But a Card that is.  I have a quick project to share with you.  I took a gift bag and made it a little extra special.  Check it out:

I just used some items from the Birthday Bouquet Suite.  I love this technique where you fold over the paper to show off both sides of the DSP.  I used it on a card yesterday and thought it would be cute for this panel.  I added some of the Metallics Glitter Tape for some sparkle along with some Mint Macaron Lace and some Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.

New Catalog Countdown Day 5 - It's My Party

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!  The new Occasions catalog will be live and shop-able in just 5 days!  I hope you saved your holiday money because there is just so much to love.  We are doing a countdown over at SSInkspiration and of course I had to be part of it.  Here is a peek at the It's My Party Suite:  

So much to fall in love with, right?  Let's take a close up look at each project?

Here I took a normal white bag and made my own gift bag with stamps, card stock, Designer Series Paper and some Baker's Twine (yeah, Basic Black and Mint Macaron yummy yummy Baker's Twine).  Those balloons and cupcakes are made from an adorable punch pack that matches the paper and stamp set.  

Here is a birthday card that I made and gave away already.  I just love that patterned paper...the colors are so fun, just like an awesome party!  And that cake and Happy Birthday sentiment are from the stamp set Party Wishes.  Did you spot the Crushed Curry candle?  That is the last of the punches from that pack.

This time I used the new Confetti embossing folder.  I love these colors together and all the fun patterns in the Designer Paper Series Stack.  Its a big one, 48 pages.  4 each of 12 double sided designs!

Christmas Tags

Last year I decided that all my Christmas Gifts would have handmade tags on them.  To help with this endeavor, I got the fabulous Oh What Fun Tag Kit in the Holiday catalog.  But I also wanted to design a few of my own as well.  Here are two fun tags I created:

  

The left used "Jolly" from the Christmas Greeting Thinlits and the deer from Jolly Christmas stamped in Soft Suede.  The one on the right uses the Embellished Ornaments in Blackberry Bliss with gold accents.  The Merry Wishes comes from the Oh What Fun stamp set, which will be available to purchase after the Holiday catalog retires.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Hello and welcome to our December Blog Hop!  Today we are hopping about all things Christmas.  I love crafting for Christmas, it is my absolute favorite.  All my Christmas cards are handmade as well as all my tags for packages.  And I am always looking for new ideas, so this hop will be great!  I can't wait to see what the other designers come up with.  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! I have a card and a tag to share with you today.  Up first is one of my favorite Christmas Cards I made this year.  

Don't you just love the window framelit?  You can keep loving because it will be in the next catalog!  The card base is Soft Sky and the striped wallpaper looking DSP is from the Season of Cheer DSP.  I created a wintry scene with the Happy Scenes stamp set (which I got bundled with the window framelits).  It is hard to see in the picture but there is some Dazzling Details on the ground and in the snow for a soft glittery effect.  The Santa is fussy cut from the Home for Christmas DSP.  As for the Noel, that came from the Wondrous Wreath framelits which can still be found in the Annual Catalog.  I cut it from the Red Foil paper which will also be returning in the Occasions Catalog.  Here is a peek at home I stamped the envelope to go with the card:  

I also have a little tag to share as well:

That little deer is so dear!  This tag came together so quickly.  I cut the base in Early Espresso and used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch on the top.  The holly background paper and the little deer come from the Home For Christmas DSP.  I used the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch in Cherry Cobbler and the 2" circle punch in Very Vanilla.  The To/From comes from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set.  I finished it off with some Cherry Cobbler Thick Twine.  I love both of these projects!  

And because its almost Christmas, I am in the giving mood.  Here is a sneak peek at some of the new stuff in the Occasions Catalog using that same Window Frame thinlit.

What's Your Type?

I remember when this set came out last year.  I was so intrigued.  But I was still not really used to the Photopolymer stamp sets so I held off on getting it.  But now that I feel like I got a handle on how they stamp, I love the Photopolymer (you gotta have the Piercing Matt to stamp on)!  Here is the set:

I saw the color scheme on a challenge a few weeks ago and I was unable to participate n the challenge at that time.  The colors stuck in my head though.  I thought they would be perfect for an "I Love You" card.  These shapes are pretty big so I had to change my initial plan since I didn't have the room.  I think if I ever go back to traditional scrapbooking, I might use this set for fun titles.  I can also see the possibilities for stamping great backgrounds.  

I also had a chance to make a quick Christmas Tag using the Epic Alphabet stamp set that just came from Mr. Brown today.  Check it out:

I used Cherry Cobbler and Cucumber Crush for my red and green.  The "Happy" die cut is glue onto some vellum.  

This was a quick and easy fun Holiday tag.  I had to decorate the back so it was ready to give:

The To and From stamps came from the Oh What Fun stamp sets along with the holly images.

Comfort and Joy Wine Tag

Over the weekend I had the chance to be a vendor at our township's Fest O Fall.  I had lots of handmade goodies for sale including some wine tags.  I love making these because they come together super quick.  I used the Holiday Catalog for some inspiration.

I turned that into a quick and easy wine tag:

I didn't change too much although I felt that Wishing You Comfort and Joy would be the perfect sentiment on the wine tag given that Holidays can be a stressful time of the year.  Check out the other CASEd projects over at SSI!

Peaceful and Perfect Pines

I love all the bundles in the Holiday Catalog.  I am slightly embarrassed to say I have most of them.  The Peaceful and Perfect Pines bundle was one that I had to have immediately.  But oddly enough, I haven't really played with it too much.  Well after I quickly threw together the following two projects, that will change.  The stamp set is so awesome with three different size trees and other odds and ends to go with them AND two choices for the inside of your card.  And the matching framelits are fabulous!

I love me some gold!  The card was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches.  Here was their sketch:

This came together so quickly!  And I had some scrap left over so I made a tag as well:

2015 Holiday Catalog Countdown - Day 5 Fall

This was super quick to make.  I love all the rich, vibrant fall colors and the little touch of sparkle and shine.  That gold glitter ribbon is so pretty and comes packaged with white glitter ribbon.   You can do something very cool to it that I will show in a few days.  The stamp set comes in a bundle and I will be using the coordinating embossing folder in a few days as well so stay tuned!  Here is a complete supply list.  Don't forget to check out all the fall projects for a sneak peek at the fantastic new products over at SSI.

Cotton Paper

So I always see fabulous creative people make these gorgeous paper flowers and I just wish I could do that.  Enter the new thin but durable Cotton Paper.  It comes in colors that match the Cherry on Top DSP, fun and bright!  With a few framelits and punches I was able to make some fun paper flowers.  Here are my projects using this cool new product!

Here is a close up of them individually:

Here is a quick tag I made with the Cherry on Top Washi Tape and You're So Sweet stamp set.  The flower was made from Crushed Curry cotton paper punched with all the scallop circles and stacked and stapled in the center.  So easy, right?  

This might be hard to see but I wanted to see if I could emboss the cotton paper.  I chose the Cucumber Crush paper and the Lovely Lace embossing folder.  Just a little DSP and a sentiment from Perfect Pennants and this card was done!  

And finally is my large flower adorning a Tag a Box filled with votive candles.  I used the Floral Frames framelits and cut the Watermelon Wonder cotton paper.  Just stack, staple, crumple and shape and you have a fun decoration for a gift!

A Fancy (and Quick and Easy) Gift Tag

I love being able to make a quick project from the scraps left over from previous projects.  And that is exactly what I did with this gift tag I created.  I used some scraps I had on my desk and was able to make a cute tag for a bag in about 10 minutes.  Of course, it helps that Stampin' Up! has so many great coordinating products!  Here is the gift bag:

I buy these big plain bags and use my stash to decorate them.  Much more personal and cheaper than the store bought bags.  I just added some of the Bohemian Washi Tape and some Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim.  Here is a close up of the tag:

I used the Bohemian DSP along with coordinating card stock and the Boho Chich embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Happy Happenings and I love how the Label Bracket layers on the Decorative Label punch.  I tied the tag on with some of the striped Blackberry Bliss ribbon.  I can't wait to be able to give this cute bag to someone special.  Did you check out the other gift tags over at SSI?
