Sweet Hauntings

Halloween is such a fun time of the year!  I love all the cute decor.  And Stampin' Up! came out with some really cute stamp sets.  I had to get Sweet Hauntings, I just loved those little potion bottles.  Here is a fun card I made with that stamp set:

If you were paying attention to yesterday's blog entry, you might recognize these supplies.  They are the ones I sent to Donna for our Mystery Supplies Swap.  She made a super cute card!  A few things to note about my card.  The note tag punch layers perfectly with one of the Chalk Talk dies.  In this case, I used some black glimmer paper.  I also love that Blackberry Bliss striped ribbon.  It ties so nicely!  Below is a complete supply list.  Be sure to check back at SSI for more Halloween projects!

September's Mystery Items

Last month over at SSI we did a fun swap where we sent each other some supplies to make a card.  We have done it again for the month of September.  I got some cute stuff from Carrie and I was so excited to create with it, I forgot to take a picture of the items I got, but fear not, I can describe them exactly.  She gave me a great start to a fun festive and quick card!  Here it is:

I received the Real Red circle with the sentiment embossed on in white, the super cute Santa, the ribbon and the little star button.  The card practically made itself!  I just needed a card based, some embossed whisper white and a bit of silver cording trim (probably my favorite accessory in the new catalog).  So cute, right?  Thanks Carrie for sending me such great supplies!  Be sure to go back and check out all the other Mystery Supplies projects over at SSI.  I sent supplies to Donna and she made such a cute card!

September Mystery Challenge

We have a fabulous supply challenge for you today from Donna!  Check it out:

I have incorporated three elements here; Pumpkin, Twine and Framelits!  Here is a fun little Halloween treat bag perfect for a teacher.

I love the Halloween DSP this year!  I decided to make a pumpkin from an embossed Tangelo Twist circle.  I got to use the A Little Something stamp set which I colored with markers.  This came together so quickly!  Here is a complete supply list below.  Be sure to check out SSI for more projects and then upload your own for our Mystery Supply Challenge!

Embellished Ornaments Bundle

A few years ago Stampin' Up put out some beautiful ornament stamps and coordinating framelits.  Of course I had to have them.  I made many Christmas cards with them.  So when I saw the new ornament bundle, I tried to resist.  But I just couldn't....they looked so pretty!  Here is the bundle:

Gorgeous right?  I made four cards to share with you using this fabulous bundle.  First up is a beautiful Lost Lagoon ornament embossed with Irridescent Ice.  And that wasn't enough sparkle and shine, I used the Holiday Fancy Foil vellum, the glitter ribbon (colored on the back with Lost Lagoon) and some silver cording trim.  That trim is a MUST have by the way!

Next up is a trio of ornaments in red and silver.  Again I used that Holiday Fancy Foil Vellum and this time the Red Foil sheets.  The silver ornament is embossed.

Clearly I liked this layout so much, I did it again with Blackberry Bliss, Gold and Very Vanilla.

And finally I had to hang an ornament on the tree.  I just used the tree from Lovely as a Tree as a branch and I have a clean and simple card!

Thanks so much for checking out all my cards today!  This bundle is great for simple, elegant cards and I can't wait to play with it some more.  These four creations were the first things I made once I got it!  Did you get a chance to see all the other fabulous projects over at SSI featuring the bundles from the Holiday Catalog!

September INKspiration Challenge

Welcome to a new installment for the SSI blog, out Inkspiration Challenge.  We will provide an image to inspire you to create anything you want.  Here is this month's image:

So for me, I see a woman who has her act together!  She looks professional and polished and check out those gold bangles.  So I made a Congrats card perfect for someone's first day at a new job or any occasion like that. Here is my card:

Okay so the gold was a big jumping off point for me.  What can I say, I love me some sparkle and shine!  I love the Gold Vellum!  And of course I had to emboss the sentiment in gold.  Thanks for checking out my project!  What does this image make you think of?  Create a project using any aspect of that picture and upload it over at SSI!

Acorny Thank You

Today at SSI we are highlighting a fun fall stamp set.

I got to play with this set a couple weeks ago when Donna sent me some nuts for our Mystery Supply Challenge.  She sent me quite a few and I had enough left over to make this card.

I love the colors in this card, so rich and perfect for fall!  I sponged the DSP with Soft Suede to make it look more Very Vanilla since it was Whisper White.  And I don't think that a fall project is complete without a touch of gold and those Metallic Doilies are just perfect!  Below is a complete list of supplies.  Check out all the other Nutty Projects over at SSI!

3 Cards, 3 Levels

I love that when creating a project, you can start with something simple and then add more and more to it to take it to the next level.  I have a great example to show you today using one of my favorite bundles from the Holiday Catalog.  I will show you each card and explain how I stepped each one up.

For the beginner card, I stamped some snowflakes onto some Whisper White card stock in Soft Sky.  I took a small piece of Smoky Slate and stamped the sentiment on it.  To finish it off, I stamped, punched and layered some snowflakes and finished them off with an iced rhinestone in the center.  In inside of the card I just stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate.  Here is a supply list.

For the stepped up, intermediate version, I added a few extra embellishments.  First over top of the stamped Whisper White, I added the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  Under the snowflake I twirled up some silver Cording Trim.  And then on the inside, I stamped the large snowflake in Soft Sky and then stamped the sentiment over it in Smoky Slate.  You will notice I only added two things to the supply list.

Finally for the advanced version, I added some Silver Glimmer paper and did some heat embossing with the popped up snowflakes and both sentiments.  This time I had to add a few extra tools to the supply list, but not too much of a change.

And here are all three card together.  It doesn't take too much to step up your cards.  Did you get a chance to see the other stepped up cards over at SSI?

September Card Sketch

I love a great card sketch to help me when I am creatively stumped or want to throw together a project quickly.  This month's card sketch is absolutely perfect for a quick and easy card I had in my mind.  Here is the sketch:

Super fun, right?  Here is my take using some fabulous new Christmas products from the Holiday catalog!

That beautiful tree paper is the Season of Cheer DSP.  The combo of the rich Mossy Meadow and soft Pool Party is so perfect.  The reindeer is embossed with gold embossing powder, so in person is shines so pretty!

Thanks for checking out my card for the sketch.  You better get making yours and upload it over at SSI!

Welcoming Fall September Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the SSI September Blog Hop where we are welcoming fall with open arms!  I love fall; the scents, the colors, the holidays, the cooler temperature, and the pumpkin and apple treats!  I have two fall projects for you to check out today.  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 3 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - (Leanne at Literally My Joy). If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

First up I have some cute candy holders that I will have available at my first ever Vendor Fair.  I am starting small with the Fest O Fall in my township.  I am super excited to meet people and share what I love to do!

I just love the Curvy Keepsakes Die!  I made some apples and pumpkins and filled them with caramels.  I thought the Hello Fall sentiment and a little bit of gold was the perfect touch.  Oh, and wondering about the little leaf?  I used the Bow Builder Punch!  These treat holders were so easy to make and I can't wait to share them with everyone!

Next up is a festive fall card using both new and old supplies.

Don't you love that leaf paper?  Wonder where I got it?  I made it!  That is right, I made my own DSP with those leaves from A Little Something.  Also something to note, is that the Into the Woods DSP (that beautiful cluster of fall flowers) has Whisper White in it.  I had started my card with Very Vanilla.  So I sponged the DSP with Soft Suede to make it look like it was Very Vanilla so it would all work together.

Minion Punch Art Card

I was hoping to get a chance to take my daughter to see the new Minion movie.  But with the hustle and bustle of the summer, that didn't happen.  Fortunately I went to a kids birthday party which had a Minion theme so I had a chance to create some Minion cards.  I made the flip card last week.  And today I have a little punch art card using the owl punch.  Here it is:

This was pretty easy to make.  I liked the idea of the Minion being carried away by a huge balloon.  It seems like something Kevin, Stuart, or Bob would do for sure!  You can find a complete supply list below.  Check out the punch art creations over at SSI!

September Color Challenge

Happy Monday and welcome to this month's color challenge.  We have a great trio of colors for you to focus on, perfect for cards, layouts, or 3-D projects in any theme you would like!  Here are your colors:

I actually needed to make a baby themed card for my mother.  We were out shopping together and she asked me to take her to a card store.  Of course I was flabbergasted and refused!  I knew I could make her a super cute card that would be extra special.  Here it is:

I love the Something for Baby bundle....it is perfect for baby themed cards.  And the extra little ribbon and washi tape were the perfect touch!  Side note, if you don't have the 1/4 inch cotton, ribbon you should totally get some.  We have them in lots of colors bound to match any project you have in mind!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to upload your creation over at SSI.

Spider Web Doilies

I am just loving all the fun products in the new Holiday Catalog!  The stamps, the tools, the paper, it's all so wonderful!  But the coordinating accessories are my favorite for sure.  Today at SSI we are showcasing the Spider Web Doilies.  I know that you can totally use these doilies for a non Halloween project, but I love me some punch art, so I went ahead and took a web and made it a home.  Check out my card:

I love my spider, but let it be known I only like spiders in paper form.  Those real creepy crawly ones can stay outside.  I made mine with some Black Glitter Paper and used the Chevron Border punch for the legs.  I also used some of the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter paper and sponged it with Tangelo Twist.  You can find a complete supply list below.  Did you get a chance to see the other projects focusing on the Spider Web Doilies over at SSI?

Gift Bow Die

I love my Big Shot!  This is not big news.  I also love the Bigz Dies...and I guess that might qualify as Bigz news?  Today at SSI we are spotlighting the Bigz Dies found in the Annual Catalog.  I have three projects for the upcoming season using the Gift Bow Die to share with you today.  First up is using the die as it was meant to be used, to make a gift bow.  Here I dressed up a cute bag of Halloween candy with the Happy Haunting DSP in the new catalog.

This was super easy and a great way to use up that DSP that we are hoard.  Here is a supply list:

Up next I made some home decor, perfect to adorn the Thanksgiving table.

This took a little bit of time and was inspired by this fabulous tutorial.  I did change things up a little bit.  Here is a supply list:

And my absolute favorite project with the Gift Bow Die is the Angle Christmas Ornament.  These are so easy and so pretty.  Here is one I made super quickly.

I used the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.  Instead of Whisper White and Very Vanilla, they have Gold and Silver in the pack.  If I had know that I would have bought that pack of paper right away!  These paper stacks are so wonderful, with four great patterns to choose from.  I picked the gold paper for my angel and added other gold accessories.  Here are all my supplies:

Holiday Catalog Countdown - Day 1 New Products

It's here, it's here!  You can now order from this fabulous catalog!  Don't break the internet!  Today I have a stamp set that I actually won at convention.  Actually I have a picture of exact moment that I realized I won, along with the best upline ever!

Wahoo!  Free stuff is awesome.  Although to be honest I would have bought this set anyways.  I am a sucker for snowflakes.  I have them all since I have become a demonstrator!  Here is the card I created:

I decided to go with some non traditional Christmas colors.  And of course I had to use the emboss resist technique.  Here is the inside of the card as well.

I stamped the largest snowflake in Soft Sky and then stamped the sentiment over it in Bermuda Bay.  Here is a complete supply list.

Minion Flip Card

These cards have been floating around Pinterest and I had really wanted to try my hand at them.  So when I saw we were doing a post on Kid's Birthday Cards, I had a great opportunity.  Here is my take:

This card was surprisingly easy to do.  The flip cards are so fun and with the Thinlit, you can make them so quickly!  I don't know how I create with my Big Shot.  Here is a complete supply list below.  Don't forget to check out the other Kid's Birthday cards over at SSI!
