Fancy Fold Fridays - Triple Easel Card

Happy Halloween!  I almost shared a different card but then I realized what day it was!  So here is a project a little more festive, the Halloween card my daughter and I made for her teacher.  Special thanks to Elaine Jackson for a wonderful tutorial

I used some retired Halloween paper along with some great dies.

Tag It Thursdays - Trick or Treat

Its almost Halloween so I thought the tag I would feature today would be the one I made with the My Paper Pumpkin kit from last month.  These terrifying tags and bags were so quick and easy to make.  I love My Paper Pumpkin, the kits are so fun and festive and most of the time I have left over supplies to make other goodies plus the stamps are good forever!

Wow Wednesdays - Project Life

This past weekend I was fortunate to have the opportunity to go to a weekend long crop with some fantastic ladies.  My goal was to start my son's album.  I printed out 190 pictures from his first year and brought along the Little Moments Project Life collection along with an album and lots of pages.  Here are the first five pages.

I was able to get the basic pages layouts for the whole year.  I still need to add some embellishments and journaling.  I was so thrilled with how much I got done.  The goal is to finish before Thanksgiving and I think that with the simplicity of Project Life, that is totally doable!

Technique Tuesday - Ink Blowing

These two cards are my very first attempt at this technique.  I definitely need more practice but I thought I would share what I have done.  Its definitely a fun technique.  One suggestion I would make is to use a kids place mat under your work, they will catch all you runaway ink.  I had a lot of that.

Must Have Mondays - Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit

This past weekend I had to privilege of going away to a fabulous scrapbooking retreat with some fantastic ladies.  We laughed, we created, we ate, it was wonderful!  Aside from making huge progress on my son's album (more on that later this week), I cracked open this kit I purchased from the Holiday Supplement.  I absolutely love it.  It had everything you need, although I decided to add some hot glue to make sure everything would stick together nicely.  I only made 10 stars...I still have sixteen left.

This product is only available while supplies last so don't delay!

Fancy Fold Fridays - Diagonal Fold Square Card

This is an older card I made but it's still a fancy fold.  I created it when I was inspired by one of my daughter's books.

I took an 8" x 8" piece of paper and score horizontally, vertically and diagonally in one direction.  Then I just played with the folds until I got it to collapse in.

SS Ink Sketch Challenge 14

The sketch challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration gave me the proper motivation to scrap last year's Halloween picture.  Here is the fabulous sketch:

I decided to use some retired Halloween DSP and then tried my hand at some punch art.  I also used the fantastic Fall Fest Bundle.

Thanks for looking!

Tag It Thursdays - Tag on Card

I love putting tags on a card.  It is a simple way to feature your card's sentiment or show off a bit of ribbon.  Here I did both along with some tone on tone background stamping and a little bit of washi tape.

Here is a supply list:

Freshly Made Sketches #159

I needed to make a birthday card so I checked the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for some inspiration.  Here is what we were given.

And here is my take:

It had been awhile since I spent some time with my Blendabilites, so I knew I wanted to use Blended Bloom.  I love the Moonlight paper stack so I used those colors.  Here is a supply list.

Wow Wednesdays - Halloween Banner

I love the Build a Banner kit.  I was thrill when they brought it into the main catalog.  Here is the first banner I made with this kit last year with the Witches Brew DSP, rosettes, doilies, buttons and ribbons.

Pals Paper Arts 224 and The Paper Players #218

I saw these two challenges at Pals Paper Arts and The Paper Players yesterday but didn't have the time to make something for them.  I knew I could pair them perfectly; a sketch challenge and one working with metallics.

I decided to go with the Blackberry Bliss, Very Vanilla, and Gold color combo.  Its very rich and makes for a perfect wedding card.  Here is my take:

The stamp is from a retired hostess set.  Otherwise here is my supply list below.  Side note: I have to use those Heart Embosslits with the foil sheets more often!

Technique Tuesday and The Friday Mashup #182

I love learning a new technique.  I have been trying different techniques with reinkers recently.  The only problem is that I don't have a lot of reinkers, mostly just retired colors.  Today's technique is brought to you thanks to The Friday Mashup.

We were given the Galaxy technique and a project for a friend to mash up.  Here is what I did:

It's hard to see in the picture, but there are little clusters of embossed "stars."  I really wanted to stamp on some shooting stars but I was shocked when I couldn't find a stamp in my collection that fit the bill.  I will have to tell my husband that I don't have every stamp available!  So instead I did little clusters of sequins.  I think it looks more like the Aurora Borealis.  Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday #368

I knew it wouldn't be long before I reached for this stamp set again.  I even used the same colors as before but thus time I am using a great sketch from Mojo Monday.

I love the DSP paper stacks...so I wanted to highlight those great prints while also showcasing the fabulous stamp set.  Here is my take:

Must Have Mondays - Choose Happiness

This is a great stamp set with so much potential.  I missed it on my first run through of the catalog and it wasn't until I saw it featured on Shelli Gardner's blog that I said, yeah I need that!  The first card here uses most of the images in the set the soft colors; Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar.

For the next card I just used the leaves and the flower along with the great DSP from the All Abloom paper stack (one of my favorites).

Finally here is the other sentiment on my attempt at the Galaxy technique (more on this tomorrow).

I know I will be reaching for this stamp set again soon.  There are jut so many possibilities.  I was so happy to get it for 20% off earlier this month!

Fancy Fold Fridays - Double Fold Card

I am always looking for new techniques and card folds.  I found this on Pinterest but the link is now broken, so I can't give credit where it is due.

I really like how this card showcases DSP.  I used all the same for my Hello Fall card, but I think mixing and matching DSP would also be fun.  I might have to try that now too!  Thanks for looking!

Tag It Thursdays - Halloween Treat Tag

Here is a cute tag I wanted to share that I made last year using the Chevron Border punch.
I thought it made a super cute spider!

Try Stampin' on Tuesday #189

Another great sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I saw it yesterday but had to wait until I got my new goodies including the Fall Fest bundle.
Here is my take:

I used some retired buttons, but otherwise here is my supply list:

Freshly Made Sketches #158

It's a rainy day here, so all I wanted to do was create.  Two things made that easy today; my son took a nice long nap and a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

I really wanted to try out a color combo; Blackberry Bliss, Very Vanilla and Gold.  I decided to use the fabulous stars from the Holiday Catalog.

The embossing folder I used is retired.  Here is a supply list:

Wow Wednesdays - Christmas Bauble

Here is a special fancy, gold and glitzy card which I considered a Wow!

Gold foil, gold vellum, gold specialty paper, gold glimmer paper and gold embossing powder all work together to create this project.  I also used white embossing powder on the gold foil sheets to layer the bauble.

Mojo Monday #367

Here is the fabulous sketch from Mojo Monday.

I had a definite idea as soon as I saw this card.  I wanted to try something more contemporary.  Here is my take.

The ribbon and some of the punches are retired now.  I was happy with how this turned out.  I love creating outside my style.

SSINK Card Sketch 14

I only had a little bit of time before my little boy was going to wake up from his nap so I checked out Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration for some inspiration.  I found this great sketch:

I wanted to keep this card PINK for Breath Cancer Awareness month.  I chose Strawberry Slush along with a retired stamp from last year.

I used a blender pen to color in the flower and put a layer of Dazzling Details for some sparkle.  Then I finished it off with a small bow from some retired ribbon.

Technique Tuesdays - Herringbone

This technique is a lot like the Starburst.  I used this fabulous tutorial.  This is my first try:

I used the Color Me Autumn DSP and the "thankful" was cut out with the Gold Foil sheets using the retired Expressions Thinlits (might still be available in the clearance rack for a steal!).  The trick is to use the transfer adhesive strips...it makes it so much easier!

Must Have Mondays - Feels Good

I wanted to share some of my creations using this awesome stamp set.
The sentiments are great for cards and home decor pieces.

Freshly Made Sketches #157

I thought the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches was perfect for a quick and easy card.
Here is the sketch:

I wanted to try a technique I saw on Pinterest, double embossing with the big dots embossing folder.  I like how it turned out.  I struggled with the shape at first.  I wanted this card to be a little on the masculine side.  I found the retired set Spiral Spins that hadn't seen very much ink and knew it would be perfect with the geometric theme.

Thanks for looking!
